1. On Rolling Variators, A study of power transmitting rolling variators when changing speed ratio
Abstract : The introduction of the concept Rolling Variators is proposed for rolling contact continuously variable transmission.A theoretical study of rolling variators when changing the speed ratio during power transmission is presented. READ MORE

2. Prediction of traction in EHL contacts operating in the linear isothermal region
Abstract : The vehicle industry plays an important role in moving people and goods all over the world. Unfortunately, the vehicular transportation has a huge (negative) impact on the climate. Improved fuel-efficient vehicle technologies are therefore required to reduce emissions and address environmental concerns. READ MORE

3. An Interactive Traction Motors Design and Selection Software
Abstract : Use of electric motors in vehicle traction, in fact, predates the internal combustion engines (ICEs). Electric vehicles powered by dc motors were known as far back as 1890. Compared with vehicles powered by ICEs, the main drawback of the early electric vehicles was, and still is, their limited range and long recharging time. READ MORE

4. Integrated In-Wheel Motors for Low Power Traction Application
Abstract : This thesis is primarily concerned with the practical limits, imposed by magnetic saturation and thermal considerations, of the force density in low-speed permanent-magnet electric machines. The practical force density values obtainable in integral- and fractional-slot machines are determined. READ MORE

5. 3D printing of polymers onto textiles : An innovative approach to develop functional textiles
Abstract : This thesis aims at characterizing tridimensional (3D) printed polymers onto PET textile materials via fused deposition modeling (FDM) that uses both non-conductive and conductive polymers, optimizing their mechanical and electrical properties through statistical modeling and enhancing them with pre and post-treatments and the development of polymer blends. This research work supports the development of technical textiles through 3D printing that may have functionalities. READ MORE
