1. A method for analysing the traffic process in a safety perspective
Abstract : The aim of this study is to extend the traffic safety assessment concept to also include normal road user behaviour, thus not only exceptional behaviours such as accidents and serious conflicts. The goal is to provide a framework for a more thorough description and analysis of safety related road user behaviour in order to better understand the traffic safety processes. READ MORE

2. Pre-crash Motion Planning for Autonomous Vehicles in Unavoidable Collision Scenarios
Abstract : Full deployment of Autonomous Vehicles (AVs) on public roads is challenging for organizations in the automotive domain in terms of developing safety standards and methods while taking legacy assumptions related to having a human driver and increased complexity and complexity handling into account. Specifically, the safety of AVs in the presence of other road users must be guaranteed as far as possible for different traffic scenarios. READ MORE

3. Modelling and inference of relative collision safety in cars
Abstract : We propose a new mathematical model for relative collision safety in cars. Our present research is restricted to head-on crashes between two cars and we try to determine how much of the injury risk in a crash that depends on car model. The relative risks include the driver populations of the different car models. READ MORE

4. Decision-Making in Automotive Collision Avoidance Systems
Abstract : This thesis is concerned with decision-making in systems that can detect hazardous traffic situations and assist drivers in avoiding collisions by using automatic braking or steering. The aim with these systems is to reduce the number of accidents and their consequences without disturbing the driver with unnecessary interventions during normal traffic conditions. READ MORE

5. Tracking and threat assessment for automotive collision avoidance
Abstract : This thesis is concerned with automotive active safety, and a central theme is a new safety function called Emergency Lane Assist (ELA). Automotive safety is often categorised into passive and active safety, where passive safety is concerned with reducing the effects of accidents and active safety aims at avoiding them. READ MORE
