  1. 1. Sensorimotor behavior in children born preterm and adolescents with Cerebral Palsy : Side preference, movement organization, and training

    Author : Anna-Maria Johansson; Louise Rönnqvist; Erik Domellöf; Janette Atkinson; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; prematurity; preterm; children; cerebral palsy; movement organization; movement performance; goal-directed; laterality; handedness; intelligence; cognition; synchronized metronome training; intervention; Psychology; psykologi;

    Abstract : Preterm birth (< 37 complete gestation weeks, GWs) is the single most prominent risk factor for the development of cerebral palsy (CP). This is due to the immature physiological state of the preterm born infant which increases the risk of brain lesions. READ MORE

  2. 2. Effect of timing training in golf and soccer players : skill, movement organization, and brain activity

    Author : Marius Sommer; Louise Rönnqvist; Charlotte Häger; Nicola Hodges; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Motor timing; rhythmicity; timing training; golf shot; golf swing; kinematics; precision; variability; coordination; movement dynamics; soccer; fMRI; mirror neurons; action observation; cerebellum; perception - action.; Psychology; psykologi;

    Abstract : Background Although trainers and athletes consider ‘good timing skills’ to be critical for optimal sport performance, little is known in regard to how sport-specific skills may benefit from timing training. Thus, assuming that all motor performances are mediated by an internal timing mechanism, enhanced motor timing is expected to have positive effects on both planning and execution of movement performance, and consequently on complex sports actions as golf or soccer. 3. 3. Implementing a program for parents with intellectual disability: Peer support as an interactive support system

    Author : Elaine Mc Hugh; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; evidence-informed programs; intellectual disability; training; implementation support; parenting; Parenting Young Children; peer support;

    Abstract : There is growing focus on equal rights and inclusion for individuals with intellectual disability (ID), including the right to have children (Article 23 of the UNCRPD). Implementation of appropriate, research-based practices is therefore integral to supporting these parents. READ MORE

  4. 4. Motives matter : Intrinsic motivation in work learning and labor market performance

    Abstract : This dissertation examines the importance of individual work motivation for two crucial dimensions of inequality: work learning and labor market performance. The first dimension relates to learning activities at work, and the second to wage attainment and knowledge-oriented task assignment. READ MORE

  5. 5. Approximation and Compression Techniques to Enhance Performance of Graphics Processing Units

    Author : Alexandra Angerd; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Compression; Approximate Computing; Register File; Machine Learning; Floating-Point Precision; Microarchitecture; GPU;

    Abstract : A key challenge in modern computing systems is to access data fast enough to fully utilize the computing elements in the chip. In Graphics Processing Units (GPUs), the performance is often constrained by register file size, memory bandwidth, and the capacity of the main memory. READ MORE
