16. Oscillatory Ca2+ signaling in glucose-stimulated murine pancreatic β-cells : Modulation by amino acids, glucagon, caffeine and ryanodine
Abstract : Oscillations in cytoplasmic Ca2+ concentration ([Ca2+]i) is the key signal in glucose-stimulated β-cells governing pulsatile insulin release. The glucose response of mouse β-cells is often manifested as slow oscillations and rapid transients of [Ca2+] i. READ MORE

17. Analysis of High-Frequency Electrical Transients in Offshore Wind Parks
Abstract : In this thesis, a study of high frequency electromagnetic transient phenomena is performed. Models of various components needed for simulations of high frequency transients, such as for transformers, cables and breakers are developed. READ MORE

19. Electromagnetic Interference in Distributed Outdoor Electrical Systems, with an Emphasis on Lightning Interaction with Electrified Railway Network
Abstract : This thesis deals with the electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) problems of distributed electrical networks, especially that caused by lightning to electrified railway. Lightning transients were found to damage important devices that control train movements, causing traffic stoppage and delays. READ MORE

20. On SiC JFET converters: components, gate-drives and main-circuit conditions
Abstract : This thesis deals with Silicon Carbide Junction Field Effect Transistors (SiC JFETs) - how to use them to their full potential in power electronic circuits, how to model them in a power electronic simulation program, and how a gate drive can be built. To fully utilize the low on-state losses of SiC JFETs it is suggested that SiC JFETs should not be equipped with anti-parallel diodes. READ MORE
