6. Three-nucleon forces in nuclear physics simulations
Abstract : The aim of this licentiate thesis is to evaluate the normal-ordered two-body (NO2B)-approximation as a computationally promising way to incorporate realistic three-nucleon forces (3NFs) in nuclear many-body simulations using the no-core-shell-model. The existence and importance of 3NFs is predicted in chiral effective field theories of the strong-nuclear force. READ MORE

7. NMR Investigations of Host-Guest Complexes and Their Dynamic Properties
Abstract : This thesis discusses several different methods offered by solution and solid state nuclear magnetic resonance for investigation of host-guest complexes and their constituents. The presented methods were used especially (but not exclusively) to address rotational dynamics of the bound guest in different molecular systems. READ MORE

8. JupiterNCSM: A Pantheon of Nuclear Physics —an implementation of three-nucleon forces in the no-core shell model—
Abstract : It is well established that three-nucleon forces (3NFs) are necessary for achieving realistic and accurate descriptions of atomic nuclei. In particular, such forces arisenaturally when using chiral effective field theories (χEFT). READ MORE

9. Porins of Borrelia burgdorferi
Abstract : Borrelia burgdorferi is a pathogenic spirochete which cycles between its arthropod vector and vertebrate host. If transmitted to humans, B. burgdorferi causes Lyme disease, an infection which can impair different organs, such as the skin, joints, nervous system and heart. READ MORE

10. Development of NMR methods for studies of dynamics and structure : applications to motilin, Alzheimer β-peptide and ubiquitin
Abstract : NMR spin relaxation was used to study structure and dynamics of two biologically important peptides. The first case concerns the three-dimensional structure of the 22 amino acid residue peptide hormone motilin in the presence of SDS micelles, which mimic a biomembrane environment.
