6. Computation of EMC Properties of Slots and Printed Circuit Boards
Abstract : This thesis deals with the numerical solution of electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) problems for electronic systems, such as radiated emission, susceptibility and crosstalk on printed circuit boards and transmission through slots. The analysis of printed circuit boards is done by using an electric field integral equation (EFIE) expressed in the frequency domain, which is solved by using the method of moments. READ MORE

7. Hybrid Converters for HVDC Transmission
Abstract : The line-commutated converter (LCC) and the voltage-source converter (VSC) are the two main converter technologies utilized in high-voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission applications. Depending on the application requirements, one technology might be more advantageous than the other. READ MORE

8. Slow propagation line-based superconducting devices for quantum technology
Abstract : In the field of circuit quantum electrodynamics (c-QED), the coherent interaction of two-level systems (TLSs) with photons, confined in a superconducting microwaveresonator, opens up new possibilities for quantum computing experiments. This thesis contributes to the expansion of c-QED tool-box with slow propagation line-based solutions for ubiquitous techniques, such as cryogenic Near Field Scanning Microwave Microscopy (NSMM), Electron Spin Resonance (ESR) spectroscopy and Traveling Wave Parametric Amplifier (TWPA). 9. Modelling and control of a line-commutated HVDC transmission system interacting with a VSC STATCOM
Abstract : The interaction of an HVDC converter with the connected power system is of complex nature. An accurate model of the converter is required to study these interactions. The use of analytical small-signal converter models provides useful insight and understanding of the interaction of the HVDC system and the connected system components. READ MORE

10. Multi-terminal HVDC protections based on transient line modeling
Abstract : High voltage direct current (HVDC) is considered one of the critical technologies required for the power system to enable the transition toward renewables. With an increasing geographical density of HVDC converters, there is a potential for optimization by connecting more than two converters into a shared DC transmission system, thus forming a multi-terminal HVDC (MTDC) system.
