1. The Hepatobiliary Transport of Rosuvastatin In Vivo
Abstract : In vivo studies of hepatobiliary disposition are challenging. The hepatobiliary system is complex, as its physiological localization, complex cellular structure with numerous transporters and enzymes, and the interindividual variability in protein expression and biliary flow will all affect the in vivo disposition of a drug under investigation. 2. Mechanisms of transendothelial and tissue transport in the peritoneum. Experimental studies on rat
Abstract : In the present thesis, the quantitative role of active transport (transcytosis) in bulk transvascular protein movement in vivo was evaluated. Using chemical transcytosis inhibition (N-ethylmaleimide (NEM) and filipin), we were able to show that NEM actually increases endothelial permeability to macromolecules, probably as a result of unspecific toxic action on endothelial cells. 3. Plastidial phosphate transport in plants
Abstract : Phosphorus is an essential element for all living organisms and is central to the genetics and energetics of life. Inorganic phosphate (Pi) is recurrently involved in protein regulation and signal transduction but also in energy transfer as a component of the ATP-molecule. READ MORE

4. In vitro and in silico prediction of drug-drug interactions with transport proteins
Abstract : Drug transport across cells and cell membranes in the human body is crucial for the pharmacological effect of drugs. Active transport governed by transport proteins plays an important role in this process. A vast number of transport proteins with a wide tissue distribution have been identified during the last 15 years. READ MORE

5. Pharmacokinetics and Pharmacodynamics of Oxycodone and Morphine with Emphasis on Blood-Brain Barrier Transport
Abstract : The pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of oxycodone and morphine was investigated and related to the transport across the blood-brain barrier (BBB) in rats. The influence of a P-glycoprotein (P-gp) inhibitor on the plasma pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of oxycodone was evaluated. READ MORE
