1. Competition in Public Transport Essays on competitive tendering and open-access competition in Sweden
University dissertation from Stockholm : KTH Royal Institute of TechnologyAbstract : The results of this work show that the cost efficiency of tendered bus services is similar across all Swedish counties, except for the more high-density counties where efficiency is lower. Considerably lower efficiency is also found for contracts with services run in-house by the Public Transport Authority (PTA), compared to when the same service is run by a private actor. READ MORE

2. Efficiency and acceptability of pricing policies and transport investments in distorted economies
University dissertation from Stockholm : KTH Royal Institute of TechnologyAbstract : This thesis contains five papers studying the economic efficiency and political acceptability of road pricing policies and transport investments in distorted economies. Interactions between the transport market and other distorted markets, such as the labor market, can have a large impact on the welfare effect of a road pricing policy or a transport investment. 3. Transport Efficiency: Analysing the Transport Service Triad
University dissertation from ; Chalmers tekniska högskola; GothenburgAbstract : This thesis deals with transport services and transport efficiency. There are growing environmental concerns for many industries and the freight transport industry in particular faces challenges in reducing its CO2 emissions. READ MORE

4. Collisional transport in edge transport barriers and stellarators
University dissertation from ; Chalmers tekniska högskola; GothenburgAbstract : Nuclear fusion has the potential to generate abundant and clean energy. In magnetic confinement fusion, the temperatures needed to achieve fusion are obtained by confining a hot plasma with magnetic fields. READ MORE

5. Turbulent and neoclassical transport in tokamak plasmas
University dissertation from ; Chalmers tekniska högskola; GothenburgAbstract : One of the greatest challenges of thermonuclear fusion is to understand, predict and to some extent control particle and energy transport in fusion plasmas. In the present thesis we consider theoretical and experimental aspects of collisional and turbulent transport in tokamak plasmas. READ MORE
