  1. 21. Intersectional intersectionality? Interpretative politics in metacommentaries on intersectionality

    Author : Amund Rake Hoffart; Liisa Husu; Lena Gunnarsson; Kathy Davis; Örebro universitet; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Feminist theory; intersectionality; additivity; paradigm; storytelling;

    Abstract : The claim that intersectionality has become a dominant paradigm for feminist scholarship and activism constitutes the backdrop to this study. One central arena for making such claims is the genre of metacommentaries on intersectionality. READ MORE

  2. 22. The Euclidean traveling salesman problem with neighborhoods and a connecting fence

    Author : Håkan Jonsson; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Dependable Communication and Computation Systems; Kommunikations- och beräkningssystem;

    Abstract : An important class of problems in robotics deals with the planning of paths. In this thesis, we study this class of problems from an algorithmic point of view by considering cases where we have complete knowledge of the environment and each solution must ensure that a point-sized robot capable of moving continuously and turning arbitrarily accomplishes the following: (1) visits a given set of objects attached to an impenetrable simple polygon in the plane, and (2) travels along a path of minimum length over all the possible paths that visit the objects without crossing the polygon. 3. 23. Pre-Flight Development of the PoGOLite Pathfinder

    Author : Mózsi Kiss; Mark Pearce; Gottfried Kanbach; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Astroparticle physics; Astropartikelfysik;

    Abstract : The Polarized Gamma-ray Observer (PoGOLite) is a balloon-borne instrument that will measure gamma-ray polarization in the energy range 25-80 keV from astronomical sources such as pulsars, accretion discs and jets from active galacticnuclei. The two additional parameters provided by such observations, polarizationangle and degree, will allow these objects to be studied in a new way, providing information about their emission mechanisms and geometries. 4. 24. Stiffness and aneurysm of the aorta. Relations to vascular aging, hyperglycemia, and inflammation

    Author : Soumia Taimour; Vaskulära sjukdomar - kliniska studier; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Aortic stiffness; Hyperglycaemia; abdominal aortic aneurysm AAA ;

    Abstract : A well-functioning arterial system for the transport of oxygen to the cells is essential for human health. The aorta has a key role for the provision of this physiological effect. Disturbances to aortic function can lead to majorsymptoms and even death due to ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA). READ MORE

  5. 25. Ultrasound Communication through Thin Plates: Understanding the Channel

    Author : Asra Ashraf; Jaap van de Beek; Johan E. Carlson; Magnus Sandell; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Signalbehandling; Signal Processing;

    Abstract : Ultrasound, composed of sound waves with frequencies above the human audible range, has become widely used in various technological fields for digital communications. In the past, acoustic and ultrasonic waves were employed in military and commercial un-derwater wireless communication systems due to their superior performance compared to electromagnetic waves.
