  1. 1. Three - dimensional ultrasound studies of the cervix in pregnancy

    Author : Linas Rovas; Malmö Institutionen för kliniska vetenskaper; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; andrology; gynaecology; Obstetrics; Prostaglandin .; Labor induction .; Spontaneous delivery .; Pregnancy .; Cervix uteri .; Blood flow indices .; Doppler ultrasound .; Three-dimensional imaging .; sexuality; reproduction; Obstetrik; sexualitet; reproduktion; gynekologi; andrologi;

    Abstract : The aim of this thesis was to evaluate cervical physiological changes by three-dimensional (3D) ultrasound during pregnancy and to investigate the ability of 3D power Doppler to predict time to spontaneous and induced delivery in prolonged pregnancy. The thesis is based on five studies: reproducibility of cervical measurements by 3D power Doppler ultrasound (study I), reference data representative normal findings of the cervix assessed by 3D ultrasound during pregnancy (studies II, III) and the ability of 3D power Doppler to predict time to spontaneous and induced delivery in prolonged pregnancy. Author : Ahmad Abedin; Mikael Östling; Cor Claeys; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Monolithic; sequential; 3D; silicon; germanium; wafer bonding; etch back; germanium on insulator; GOI; Ge pFET; low temperature; Sipassivation; pn junction; Kisel; germanium; epitaxi; selektiv; pn-övergång; germanium påisolator; GOI; Ge PFET; bonding; monolitisk; sekventiell; tre dimensionell; 3D; lågtemperarad;

    Abstract : Monolithic three-dimensional (M3D) integration, it has been proposed,can overcome the limitations of further circuits’ performance improvementand functionality expansion. The emergence of the internet of things (IoT) isdriving the semiconductor industry toward the fabrication of higher-performancecircuits with diverse functionality. READ MORE

  3. 3. Extending the nuclear cranking model to tilted axis rotation and alternative mean field potentials

    Author : Peter Olivius; Matematisk fysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; classical mechanics; gravitation; statistical physics; Kärnfysik; Nuclear physics; kvantmekanik; relativitet; statistisk fysik; termodynamik; thermodynamics; klassisk mekanik; Matematisk och allmän teoretisk fysik; Nuclear Structure; Tilted axis rotation; Mathematical and general theoretical physics; quantum mechanics; relativity; Fysicumarkivet A:2004:Olivius;

    Abstract : The nuclear model for three dimensional cranking is extended to include a generalization of the Strutinski renormalization procedure from principal axis cranking to cranking about an tilted axis. A new computer code has been written for realistic, full-scale calculations within the three dimensional cranking model. READ MORE

  4. 4. Segmentation and tracking of cells and particles in time-lapse microscopy

    Author : Klas E. G. Magnusson; Joakim Jaldén; Dirk Padfield; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Cell tracking; Particle tracking; Multiple target tracking; Image segmentation; Image processing; Computer vision; Open source software; Time-lapse microscopy; Electrical Engineering; Elektro- och systemteknik;

    Abstract : In biology, many different kinds of microscopy are used to study cells. There are many different kinds of transmission microscopy, where light is passed through the cells, that can be used without staining or other treatments that can harm the cells. READ MORE

  5. 5. Validation of heavy vehicle loading responses and temperature predictions in flexible pavements using field data

    Author : Denis Saliko; Sigurdur Erlingsson; Abubeker Ahmed; Denis Jelagin; Inge Hoff; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Flexible pavements; Long heavy vehicles; Instrumented test section; Field validation; Non-destructive testing; Temperature modelling; Flexibla vägkonstruktioner; Tung trafikbelastning; Instrumenterade teststräckor; Fältvalidering; Oförstörande provning; Termisk modellering; Building Materials; Byggnadsmaterial;

    Abstract : It is well established that both traffic-related loading and environmental conditions influence the structural behaviour of pavements. Pavement design methods aim to consider the effect of traffic loading and environmental variables on pavement structure, foresee their changes during the lifetime of the pavement and predict the resulting distresses and pavement life.
