    Author : Elisabet Rondung; Örjan Sundin; Johanna Ekdahl; Gerhard Andersson; Mittuniversitetet; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : Although it is medically safe to give birth in most western countries, the vast majority of pregnant women experience some kind of anxiety, fear or worry in relation to their pregnancy or the upcoming childbirth. 2. 7. Probabilistic treatment planning based on dose coverage : How to quantify and minimize the effects of geometric uncertainties in radiotherapy

    Author : David Tilly; Anders Ahnesjö; Erik Grusell; Uwe Oelfke; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Radiotherapy; treatment simulation; probabilistic planning; dose calculation; probabilistic optimization; statistical shape model; Medicinsk radiofysik; Medical Radiophysics;

    Abstract : Traditionally, uncertainties are handled by expanding the irradiated volume to ensure target dose coverage to a certain probability. The uncertainties arise from e.g. the uncertainty in positioning of the patient at every fraction, organ motion and in defining the region of interests on the acquired images. READ MORE

  3. 8. IgA Nephropathy – Mucosal Immunity and Treatment Options

  4. 9. A concept for treatment of sports related knee injuries

    Author : Magnus Forssblad; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : Local anesthesia; arthroscopy; health care cost; knee injuries; efficacy; insurance; knee surgery cost; rearthroscopy; football; soccer; handball; ice hockey; floor ball;

    Abstract : The aim of the present thesis was, to evaluate local anaesthesia as ananaesthetic technique when performing knee arthroscopies, from a clinicaland economical point of view, and to describe the total costs for surgeryof knee injuries caused by sport activities in Stockholm. In a retrospective study of 6519 arthroscopies, we tried to estimate thefailure rate for knee arthroscopy in local anaesthesia compared to thesame procedure in general anaesthesia. READ MORE
