1. From Macromolecular Design to Supramolecular Self-assembly
Abstract : Advancements in drug delivery have enabled a wider array of prevention, control and treatment of diseases such as cancer. Drug delivery systems have the possibility of encapsulating drugs with low solubility, delivering them to specific locations in the body as well as obtaining a controlled and sustained drug release. 2. The dynamic envelope of a fusion class II virus : molecular reorganizations during prefusion stages of Semliki forest virus
Abstract : The aim of this study was to explore a membrane fusion mechanism, prevailing in alphaviruses and known as virus class 11 fusion. The model virus for this mechanism is Semliki Forest virus (SFV) of the alphavirus family. READ MORE

3. Pitfalls in β-cell ion imaging with fluorescent indicators and their use for real-time detection of somatostatin secretion
Abstract : Fluorescent ion indicators have become indispensable tools in cell physiology. Dye indicators can easily be loaded into most types of cells, while genetically encoded indicators are advantageous in allowing specific cellular or subcellular targeting. READ MORE

4. Modulation of cytochrome c release by mitochondrial redox status and caspase-2
Abstract : The release of cytochrome c is an important event during apoptosis, induced by diverse stimuli. Our laboratory has previously proposed that cytochrome c release occurs via a two-step process, involving the detachment of the hemoprotein from its binding to the inner mitochondrial membrane, followed by its release into the cytosol through pores in the outer mitochondrial membrane - an event that is usually triggered by proapoptotic Bcl-2 family proteins, such as Bid, Bax and Bak. 5. Theoretical Studies on CO2 Reduction Electrocatalysts
Abstract : The atmospheric CO2 concentration has increased by more than 20% since 1980s and has now reached the highest level than at any point in the past 800 000 years. Electrochemical CO2 reductions are receiving particular in- terest as the apparatus are relatively easy to maintain and cheap to operate. READ MORE
