  1. 1. Modeling Photofunctional Transition Metal Complexes

    Author : Iria Bolano Losada; NanoLund: Centre for Nanoscience; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; density functional theory; earth-abundant; molecular dynamics; quantum chemistry; photosensitizer; photophysics; photochemistry; solar fuels; solar energy conversion; transition metal complexes;

    Abstract : Transition metal complexes play a crucial role in solar energy conversion. These coordination compounds have promising applications in dye-sensitized solar cells and photocatalysis, with particular interest in solar fuel production. READ MORE

  2. 2. Ultrafast Photo-induced Reaction Dynamics of Small Molecules

    Author : Malin Kadi; Jan Davidsson; Eva Åkesson; Sören Keiding; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Physical chemistry; pump-probe spectroscopy; reaction dynamics; photodissociation; aryl halides; spin-orbit coupling; ab initio calculations; molecular dynamics; vibrational wavepackets; Fysikalisk kemi; Physical chemistry; Fysikalisk kemi;

    Abstract : The main focus of this thesis is the investigation of the dissociation dynamics of aryl halides using femtosecond pump-probe spectroscopy. In the monohalogenated aryl halides, iodo-, bromo- and chlorobenzene, the rate of dissociation following excitation at 266 nm in the gas phase increased with increasing mass of the halogen atom. 3. 3. Strong exciton-photon and exciton-exciton coupling and its effects on molecular photophysics

    Author : Yi Yu; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Strong coupling; triplet transition dynamics; TADFs; aggregate states;

    Abstract : The energy of molecular states and their transition dynamics form the key properties to understand the photophysics of organic molecules. Strong exciton-photon and exciton-exciton couplings enable the possibility to manipulate these properties without changing the chemical structures. This is due to the formation of new energy states. Abstract : A continuing use of fossil fuels will accelerate global warning and result in severe consequences for the environment and thereby also us. Development of alternative, sustainable and environmentally friendly energy sources is therefore crucial. One approach is to create an artificial photosynthetic system that converts sunshine into fuel (e.g. READ MORE
