1. Head and Neck Cancer : Factors Affecting Tumour Growth
Abstract : Head and neck cancer is the fifth most common cancer worldwide with an estimated annual global incidence of over 500 000 cases. These malignant tumours develop in the mucosal linings of the upper respiratory tract or in the salivary glands. The most common sites are in the oral cavity and larynx. READ MORE

2. Effects of Ischaemia on the Neuroretina and Retinal Blood Vessels
Abstract : Identification of the intracellular signal transduction pathways activated in retinal ischaemia may be important in revealing novel pharmacological targets. The retinal blood vessels are key organs in circulatory failure, and in this work the retinal vasculature was therefore examined separately from the neuroretina. READ MORE

3. Treatment of arthritis with tumour necrosis factor antagonists. Clinical, immunological and biochemical aspects
Abstract : Abstract The treatment of arthritis has undergone a dramatic change since biological agents targeting specific mediators of the disease process have been introduced. Tumour necrosis factor (TNF) antagonists have been shown to reduce signs and symptoms of disease and to retard the development of tissue damage in the majority of patients. READ MORE

4. Disease activity in rheumatoid arthritis : Studies in interleukin-6, tumour necrosis factor alpha, monocyte activity, acute phase markers, glucocorticoids, and disability
Abstract : In the present studies, aspects of some disease activity measures in rheumatoid arthritis (RA) have been investigated, including the effect of glucocorticoids on this activity. In RA, serum interleukin(IL)-6 levels were elevated and were shown to have a circadian rhythm, with peak levels in the morning, declining towards low or normal levels in the afternoon and evening. 5. Mixed Effects Modelling and Optimal Design of TNFα Response in LPS Challenge Studies - Methods and Applications in Drug Discovery
Abstract : ''Endotoxin and mycoplasma are Nature’s darkest secrets. If they are ever solved, Hell itself will open.'' - Lewis Thomas* Endotoxin, or lipopolysaccharides (LPS), are heterogeneous components from the cell wall of Gram-Negative bacteria and a common challenger in the field of drug discovery.
