11. Mathematical Modeling of Turbulent Reactive Flows
Abstract : The purpose of this thesis has been to study and develop mathematical models of non-premixed turbulent reacting flows. The models developed can be used both by the chemical process industry and for turbulent combustion applications. Furthermore, the models are general and not developed for any specific chemical or mechanical system. READ MORE

12. Turbulent burning, flame acceleration, explosion triggering
Abstract : The present thesis considers several important problems of combustion theory, which are closely related to each other: turbulent burning, flame interaction with walls in different geometries, flame acceleration and detonation triggering. The theory of turbulent burning is developed within the renormalization approach. READ MORE

13. Extension of OpenFOAM Library for RANS Simulation of Premixed Turbulent Combustion
Abstract : Unsteady multi-dimensional numerical simulation of turbulent flames is a well recognized tool for research and development of future internal combustion engines capable for satisfying stringent requirements for ultra-low emission and highly efficient energy conversion. To attain success, such simulations need, in particular, well elaborated Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software, as well as advanced predictive models of turbulent burning. READ MORE

14. Large Eddy Simulation of Turbulent Swirling Flows and Turbulent Premixed Combustion
Abstract : With the increasing concerns about our environment and human health, more and more stringent emission limits have been specified. These adopted and still coming emission limits require and promote more accurate, less experiential methods to design and develop the combustors. READ MORE

15. The Axisymmetric Turbulent Jet
Abstract : This thesis aims at understanding the downstream evolution of the most energetic features of a turbulent axisymmetric jet. The study was conducted from 2 to 69 diameters downstream, using 3 different jet exit diameters with air flowing at a wide range of velocities to ensure a reasonable span of Reynolds numbers, while still keeping it in a high range, from 40,000 to 156,700.
