  1. 1. Latent variable models for longitudinal twin data

    Author : Annica Dominicus; Juni Palmgren; Nancy L. Pedersen; Michael G. Kenward; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Latent variable models; twin models; variance components; change point models; non-ignorable nonresponse; likelihood ratio tests; Mathematical statistics; Matematisk statistik;

    Abstract : Longitudinal twin data provide important information for exploring sources of variation in human traits. In statistical models for twin data, unobserved genetic and environmental factors influencing the trait are represented by latent variables. In this way, trait variation can be decomposed into genetic and environmental components. READ MORE

    Abstract : This dissertation based on a case study explores the acquisition and the guidance of Swedish Sign Language and spoken Swedish over a span of seven years. Interactions between a pair of fraternal twins, one deaf and one hearing, and their Deaf[1] family were video-observed within the home setting. READ MORE

  3. 3. Efficient Reconfigurable Multipliers Based on the Twin-Precision Technique

    Author : Magnus Själander; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Reconfigurable; VLSI; Low-Power; Twin-Precision; Multipliers; High-Speed;

    Abstract : During the last decade of integrated electronic design ever more functionality has been integrated onto the same chip, paving the way for having a whole system on a single chip. The strive for ever more functionality increases the demands on circuit designers that have to provide the foundation for all this functionality. READ MORE

  4. 4. Restrictive eating disorders: aetiological, epidemiological and neurodevelopmental aspects

    Author : Lisa Dinkler; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Eating Disorders; Anorexia Nervosa; Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder; Neurodevelopmental Disorders; Twin study; Emotion recognition; Eye tracking; Prevalence;

    Abstract : Restrictive Eating Disorders (EDs), including Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID) and Anorexia Nervosa (AN), are characterised by severely restricted food intake, commonly leading to substantial weight loss and significantly low weight, and the need for nutritional supplementation. The overarching aim of this thesis was to elucidate specific aetiological, epidemiological, and neurodevelopmental aspects of ARFID and AN, including the genetic aetiology of AN, the link between AN and autism spectrum disorder (ASD), the prevalence of ARFID, and the comorbidity of ARFID with neurodevelopmental disorders (NDDs).
