  1. 11. Modeling and Analysis of PMSM with Turn-To-Turn Fault

    Author : Joachim Härsjö; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; electromagnetic forces; vibration.; inter-turn; fault; fault detection; turn-to-turn fault; Permanent magnet synchronous machine PMSM modeling;

    Abstract : Thanks to its high-torque density and high efficiency, the Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machine (PMSM) is today used in a vast range of applications, spanning from automotive to wind. Since in a PMSM the excitation field is provided by a permanent magnet instead of a coil, this machine does not have a rotor circuit and thereby the risk for electrical failures can be isolated on the stator circuit. 2. 12. Non-stationary rotor vibrations due to assymmetric temperature from skew heating in bearings and seals

    Author : Björn Larsson; Patrick Keogh; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : The genesis of this thesis is physical observations of slow alterations of synchronous rotor vibrations over time. It can lead to problems such as difficulties in performing proper balancing and unacceptably high vibration levels. The cause is often asymmetric heating of the rotor shaft. READ MORE

  3. 13. Static and Dynamic Measurements of Neurotransmitters in Drosophila Brain

    Author : Carina Berglund; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : Neurotransmitters, the substances neurons use for communication, and their precursors and metabolites are of obvious importance for the wellbeing of the individual and when the neurotransmitter balance is off it can lead to catastrophic suffering as in the addiction to drugs or in neurodegenerative diseases. By understanding how neurons communicate with the environment, treatment may be found to aid in the symptoms of unbalance. READ MORE

  4. 14. Byzantine holy images and the issue of transcendence and immanence : The theological background of the Late Byzantine Palaiologan iconography and aesthetics of the Chora church, Istanbul

    Author : Anne Karahan; Margareta Rossholm Lagerlöf; Madeleine von Heland; Øystein Hjort; Stockholms universitet; []

    Abstract : On the basis of theological ideas in the Christian Orthodox tradition in general, and the Cappadocian Fathers in specific, this dissertation examines how the ontology of the transcendent triune God and the human and divine in Christ is implied or manifest in the Late Byzantine Palaiologan mosaics and murals of the Chora church.The study is divided into four chapters. 5. 15. Field Measurements and Numerical Simulations of Sediment Transport in a Tidal River

    Author : Qiancheng Xie; Staffan Lundström; J. Gunnar I. Hellström; Anders G. Andersson; Nils Ruther; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Strömningslära; Fluid Mechanics;

    Abstract : In a coastal area, an alluvial lowland river has a free connection with the open sea and its flow is bidirectional. The river basin is often highly urbanized since it hosts valuable ecosystems and natural resources. Along with the growing population, climate change and human activities (e.g. READ MORE
