  1. 1. Uncertainty in environmental decision-making : effects of defined or undefined guidance in the decision process

    Author : Karin Luthbom; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Waste Science and Technology; Avfallsteknik;

    Abstract : Decision-making in environmental issues often includes uncertainty in the input data and the resulting uncertainty when the data is used. Some spatial decisions are however taken without any formal analysis, meaning that the decision-makers have a mental map and preconceived notions about the decision options before the final decision actually is taken. 2. 2. Quantum Holonomies : Concepts and Applications to Quantum Computing and Interferometry

    Author : David Kult; Erik Sjöqvist; Gunnar Björk; Barry Sanders; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : Physics; Quantum Holonomy; Geometric Phase; Quantum Computation; Completely Positive Map; Mixed State; Interferometry; Fysik;

    Abstract : Quantum holonomies are investigated in different contexts.A geometric phase is proposed for decomposition dependent evolution, where each component of a given decomposition of a mixed state evolves independently. It is shown that this geometric phase only depends on the path traversed in the space of decompositions. READ MORE

  3. 3. Transcriptional regulation and effects on differentiation by LMO proteins and the basic helix-loop-helix factors TAL1 and HEN1

    Author : Anders Hansson; Institutionen för translationell medicin; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Genetik; cytogenetik; cytogenetics; Genetics; HEN1; differentiation; LMO; LIM proteins; TAL1; T-ALL; bHLH;

    Abstract : Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) is the most widespread type of cancer, as well as the most frequent leukemia in children. Malignant ALL cells originate from normal T lymphocytes or B cells that are blocked at immature stages of differentiation. READ MORE

  4. 4. Seaward Landward : Investigations on the archaeological source value of the landing site category in the Baltic Sea region

    Author : Kristin Ilves; Frands Herschend; Ingmar Jansson; Antony Firth; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; Archaeology; Coastal archaeology; Maritime archaeology; Maritime cultural landscape; Landing sites; Harbours; Critical historiography; Sociology of landing sites; Model of interaction; Methodology; Shore displacement; Phosphate analysis; Baltic Sea region; Archaeology; Arkeologi;

    Abstract : There is a tendency in archaeology dealing with watercraft landing sites in a wider context to assume a direct relationship between sites in coastal and shore-bound areas and the practise of landing, without any deeper practical or theoretical exploration of the reality of any such relationship. This problem has its origins in the poor archaeological and conceptual definitions of watercraft landing sites obstructing any real understanding of the role of these sites in the maritime cultural landscape. 5. 5. Aspects of proteinase-activated receptor-2: A sensor of enzymatic activity at the cell surface

    Author : Anna-Karin Alm; Institutionen för experimentell medicinsk vetenskap; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; neuropsychology; Neurology; endometrium.; coagulation; signalling; proteinase; G-protein; cell; receptor; neurophysiology; Neurologi; neuropsykologi; neurofysiologi;

    Abstract : Information about extracellular proteolytic activity is transduced to the cell by a transmembrane G-protein coupled receptor subfamily. These receptors are activated by proteolytic cleavage in the extracellular amino-terminal domain and are thus termed proteinase-activated receptors (PARs). READ MORE
