  1. 1. Event Pattern Detection for Embedded Systems

    Author : Jan Carlson; Björn Lisper; Christer Norström; Kim Larsen; Mälardalens högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; event pattern detection; event algebra; event monitoring; composite events; embedded systems; Computer science; Datavetenskap; Datavetenskap;

    Abstract : Events play an important role in many computer systems, from small reactive embedded applications to large distributed systems. Many applications react to events generated by a graphical user interface or by external sensors that monitor the system environment, and other systems use events for communication and synchronisation between independent subsystems. 2. 2. Phenomenological Studies on Supersymmetry and the Strong Force

    Author : Peter Skands; Teoretisk partikelfysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; R-parity violation; Physics; beam remnants; hadronisation; parton showers; underlying event; Supersymmetry; Fysik; QCD; Fysicumarkivet A:2004:Skands;

    Abstract : In this thesis, we first consider the phenomenology of R-parity violating supersymmetric extensions of the Standard Model. Specifically, a large number of Lepton and Baryon Number violating decays of sparticles to particles are implemented in the Pythia event generator. READ MORE

  3. 3. Design and Implementation of Resource-Aware Wireless Networked Control Systems

    Author : Jose Araujo; Karl Henrik Johansson; Anton Cervin; KTH; []
    Keywords : ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; Networked Control Systems; Event-triggered Control; Event-triggered PI; aperiodic control;

    Abstract : Networked control over wireless sensor and actuator systems is of growing importancein many application domains. Energy and communication bandwidth are scarce resources in such systems. READ MORE

  4. 4. Rare-event simulation with Markov chain Monte Carlo

    Author : Thorbjörn Gudmundsson; Henrik Hult; Ad Ridder; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Tillämpad matematik och beräkningsmatematik; Applied and Computational Mathematics;

    Abstract : Stochastic simulation is a popular method for computing probabilities or expecta- tions where analytical answers are difficult to derive. It is well known that standard methods of simulation are inefficient for computing rare-event probabilities and there- fore more advanced methods are needed to those problems. READ MORE

  5. 5. Molecular mechanisms underlying the oncogeneic function of SS18 & SSX

    Author : Pádraig D'Arcy; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []

    Abstract : The SS18 and SSX genes were initially identified based on their reoccurrence as fusion partners in synovial sarcoma. As a result of the specific chromosomal translocation t(X:18), the SS18 gene from chromosome 18 becomes fused with members of the SSX gene family on the X chromosome resulting in the generation of a novel chimeric fusion gene SS18-SSX.
