  1. 1. Modelling and Degradation Characteristics of Thin-film CIGS Solar Cells

    Author : Ulf Malm; Marika Edoff; Lars Stolt; James R. Sites; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; solar cells; thin-film; chalcogenide; stability; characterization; modelling; simulations; finite element method; CIGS; photovoltaic module; Electronics; Elektronik;

    Abstract : Thin-film solar cells based around the absorber material CuIn1-xGaxSe2 (CIGS) are studied with respect to their stability characteristics, and different ways of modelling device operation are investigated. Two ways of modelling spatial inhomogeneities are detailed, one fully numerical and one hybrid model. READ MORE

  2. 2. Biopharmaceutical investigations of doxorubicin formulations used in liver cancer treatment : Studies in healthy pigs and liver cancer patients, combined with pharmacokinetic and biopharmaceutical modelling

    Author : Ilse R Dubbelboer; Hans Lennernäs; Erik Sjögren; Hartmut Derendorf; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; drug delivery system; in vivo release; PBPK modelling; hepatocellular carcinoma; doxorubicin; transarterial chemoembolization; drug disposition; Biofarmaci; Biopharmaceutics; Farmaceutisk vetenskap; Pharmaceutical Science;

    Abstract : There are currently two types of drug formulation in clinical use in the locoregional treatment of intermediate hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). In the emulsion LIPDOX, the cytostatic agent doxorubicin (DOX) is dissolved in the aqueous phase, which is emulsified with the oily contrast agent Lipiodol® (LIP). READ MORE

  3. 3. Numerical Modelling of Self-Compacting Concrete Flow : Discrete and Continuous Approach

    Author : Annika Gram; Johan Silfwerbrand; Ali Farhang; Mette R. Geiker; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; SCC; rheology; Simulation of Flow; Simulering; Flöde; Självkompakterande Betong; Reologi; Construction materials; Konstruktionsmaterial;

    Abstract : With the advent of Self-Compacting Concrete (SCC) that flows freely, under the soleinfluence of gravity, the wish for hassle-free and predictable castings even in complexcases, spurged the simulation of concrete flow as a means to model and predictconcrete workability. To achieve complete and reliable form filling with smoothsurfaces of the concrete, the reinforced formwork geometry must be compatible withthe rheology of the fresh SCC. READ MORE

  4. 4. Magma plumbing architecture in Indonesia and the North Atlantic Igneous Province

    Author : Börje Dahrén; Valentin R Troll; Abigail K. Barker; Steffi Burchardt; Ben Ellis; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; magma plumbing; geothermobarometry; plagioclase; clinopyroxene; magma-crust interaction; hazard mitigation; Geovetenskap med inriktning mot mineralogi; petrologi och tektonik; Earth Science with specialization in Mineral Chemistry; Petrology and Tectonics;

    Abstract : Magma plumbing systems represent the physical framework of magma transport and storage from the source region in the mantle, through the crust, until reaching the surface in a volcanic eruption. Characterising the different aspects of magma plumbing, in particular the distribution of magma storage zones throughout the crust, is of key importance to better understand the behaviour of individual volcanoes. 5. 5. 3D Structure and Emplacement of the Alnö Alkaline and Carbonatite Complex, Sweden : Integrated Geophysical and Physical Property Investigations

    Author : Magnus Andersson; Alireza Malehmir; Valentin R. Troll; Bjarne Almqvist; Odleiv Olesen; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Alnö; carbonatite; caldera; reflection seismic; anisotropy of magnetic susceptibility; gravity; magnetic; Geophysics with specialization in Solid Earth Physics; Geofysik med inriktning mot fasta jordens fysik;

    Abstract : Carbonatites are carbonate-rich magmatic rocks that are rare and of great relevance for our understanding of crustal and mantle processes. Although found on all continents and in settings ranging from Archaean to present-day, their deeper plumbing system is still poorly understood. READ MORE
