  1. 21. Homogenization theory with applications in tribology

    Author : John Fabricius; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Matematik; Mathematics;

    Abstract : Homogenization is a mathematical theory for studying differential equations with rapidly oscillating coefficents. Many important problems in physics with one or several microscopic length scales give rise to this kind of equations. Hence there is a need for methods that enable an efficient treatment of such problems. READ MORE

  2. 22. Towards a market offer development theory : an holistic perspective on how to develop value in business-to-business relationships

    Author : Oskar Brännström; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Datorstödd maskinkonstruktion; Computer Aided Design;

    Abstract : How can companies specify and develop reliable market offers? How will it affect work processes and procedures? And what are the requirements on a company to implement a market offer perspective? In recent years, marketing researchers has promoted the concept of Relationship Marketing, implying companies to apply a holistic product perspective, or a market offer perspective. 3. 23. Constitutional rules and party goals in coalition formation : an analysis of winning minority governments in Sweden

    Author : Torbjörn Bergman; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Coalition theory; government formation; winning minority governments; support party; parliamentary democracy; constitutional rules; constitutional design; new institutionalism; multiple party goals; expected utility model; bargaining position;

    Abstract : This study starts with two theoretical puzzles within the rational choice oriented literature on government formation in parliamentary democracies: the relative importance of constitutional rules and the existence of multiple party goals. From these puzzles stem the research questions that guide the study: First, what is the theoretical and empirical link between constitutional arrangements (including rules) and party goals? Second, what are the goals of political parties and how can these be studied? Third, relative to the goals of political parties and other constitutional arrangements, what is the importance of government formation rules for the empirical record of minority and majority governments?Coalition theory provides the theoretical starting point from which the research questions stem.     Abstract : Privacy mechanism design is an important research area and is receiving increased attention in recent years. This field focuses on addressing the challenge of revealing general data that might have correlations with sensitive information, all while protecting this sensitive information against unauthorized access.     Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : A decision maker often has more than one goal to consider. On a macro-economic level many factors inflation, foreign trade, economic growth, employment and various distribution effects are balanced against one another. On a micro-economic level management has to consider the way in which decisions affect profit, liquidity, sales and other goals. READ MORE
