  1. 6. On the Secure and Resilient Design of Connected Vehicles: Methods and Guidelines

    Author : Thomas Rosenstatter; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; security; secure communication; V2X; cyber-physical systems; resilience; in-vehicle network; automotive;

    Abstract : Vehicles have come a long way from being purely mechanical systems to systems that consist of an internal network of more than 100 microcontrollers and systems that communicate with external entities, such as other vehicles, road infrastructure, the manufacturer’s cloud and external applications. This combination of resource constraints, safety-criticality, large attack surface and the fact that millions of people own and use them each day, makes securing vehicles particularly challenging as security practices and methods need to be tailored to meet these requirements. 2. 7. Predictable and Scalable Medium Access Control for Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks

    Author : Katrin Sjöberg Bilstrup; Erik G. Ström; Elisabeth Uhlemann; Maria Kihl; Högskolan i Halmstad; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; CSMA; self-organizing TDMA; STDMA; medium access control; MAC; vehicular ad hoc networks; VANET; vehicle-to-vehicle communications; V2V; V2X; IEEE 802.11p; WAVE; DSRC; ETSI ITS-G5; ISO CALM M5; real-time communications; scalability; traffic safety; cooperative system; Datatransmission; Datatransmission;

    Abstract : This licentiate thesis work investigates two medium access control (MAC) methods, when used in traffic safety applications over vehicular ad hoc networks (VANETs). The MAC methods are carrier sense multiple access (CSMA), as specified by the leading standard for VANETs IEEE 802. READ MORE

  3. 8. Medium access control for vehicular ad hoc networks

    Author : Katrin Sjöberg; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; vehicle-to-vehicle communications; SOTDMA; self-organizing TDMA; cooperative system; C-ITS; V2V; ETSI ITS-G5; traffic safety; ISO CALM M5; STDMA; VANET; IEEE 802.11p; V2X; MAC; CSMA; cooperative ITS; medium access control; WAVE; DSRC; vehicular ad hoc networks; scalability; real-time communications;

    Abstract : Cooperative intelligent transport systems (C-ITS), where vehicles cooperate by exchanging messages wirelessly to avoid, for example, hazardous road traffic situations, receive a great deal of attention throughout the world currently. Many C-ITS applications will utilize the wireless communication technology IEEE 802. READ MORE

  4. 9. Vehicular Communication in Obstructed and Non Line-of-Sight Scenarios

    Author : Dimitrios Vlastaras; Institutionen för elektro- och informationsteknik; []

    Abstract : Since the invention of the first car available to masses, the 1908 Ford Model T, technology has advanced towards making car travel safer for occupants and bystanders. In recent years, wireless communication has been introduced in the vehicular industry as a means to avoid accidents and save lives. READ MORE

  5. 10. Cooperative Automated Driving for Enhanced Safety and Ethical Decision-Making

    Author : Galina Sidorenko; Alexey Vinel; Johan Thunberg; Jérôme Härri; Högskolan i Halmstad; []
