1. Epidemiology of heart failure and feasibility of home care in patients with worsening chronic heart failure
Abstract : Aim: To investigate gender-specific trends in long-term mortality in patients hospitalised for ischaemic and non-ischaemic heart failure (HF) and explore temporal trends in the risk of HF complicating acute myocardial infarction (AMI). Another aim is to characterise patients with chronic heart failure (CHF) that seek an emergency department (ED) because of their deteriorating condition and evaluate the feasibility of home care (HC) in comparison with conventional care (CC) in patients with worsening CHF. 2. Aortic valvular flow : a clinical and experimental doppler echocardiographic study
Abstract : Aortic blood velocity determination by ultrasound Doppler is a safe and valuable tool when evaluating patients with heart disease. The time-course of the velocity signal can be used for detemnining left ventricular function. READ MORE

3. Signs of inflammation in different types of heart valve disease : The VOCIN study
Abstract : Heart valve dysfunction is a relatively common condition in the population, whereas significant heart valve disease is more unusual. The cause of different types of heart valve disease depends on which valve is concerned. Rheumatic heart valve disease, has for a long time been considered to constitute a post-inflammatory condition. READ MORE

4. Heart Failure and Aortic Stenosis - Factors Influencing Prognosis and Development
Abstract : Background: An ageing population increases the prevalence of heart failure (HF) and aortic stenosis (AS). Several studies have investigated prognosis and predictors of HF with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) compared to heart failure with reduced ejection frac-tion (HFrEF), with inconsistent results. 5. Valvular aortic stenosis in children. Outcome, physical activity and health-related quality of life
Abstract : Introduction: Isolated valvular aortic stenosis (VAS) accounts for 3–5% of congenital heart disease and presents with a wide spectrum of severity. Critical VAS in the neonate is the most severe form, fatal in the absence of treatment. Physical activity is essential for normal development and is a prerequisite for long-term cardiovascular health. READ MORE
