  1. 1. High Frequency Model of Electrified Railway Propulsion System for EMC Analysis

    Author : Kelin Jia; Rajeev Thottappillil; Hans Bängtsson; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Electromagnetic compatibility; railway; propulsion system; multitransmission line; ac motor modeling; vector fitting; fast transient;

    Abstract : A model of the electrified railway propulsion system working in a wide frequency range is studied in this thesis. The high frequency modeling is the first stage to study and predict the Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) problems in the electrified railway propulsion system, which are safety and reliability issues of high concern. 3. 3. Vector Representations of Idioms in Data-Driven Chatbots for Robust Assistance

    Author : Oluwatosin Adewumi; Marcus Liwicki; Foteini Liwicki; Taiwo Kolajo; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; conversational system; chatbot; vectors; data; deep models; Maskininlärning; Machine Learning;

    Abstract : This thesis presents resources capable of enhancing solutions of some Natural Language Processing (NLP) tasks, demonstrates the learning of abstractions by deep models through cross-lingual transferability, and shows how deep learning models trained on idioms can enhance open-domain conversational systems. The challenges of open-domain conversational systems are many and include bland repetitive utterances, lack of utterance diversity, lack of training data for low-resource languages, shallow world-knowledge and non-empathetic responses, among others. 4. 4. Metamodel-Based Multidisciplinary Design Optimization of Automotive Structures

    Author : Ann-Britt Ryberg; Larsgunnar Nilsson; Anirban Basudhar; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; multidisciplinary design optimization MDO ; metamodel; artificial neural network ANN ; support vector machine SVM ; sequential sampling; crashworthiness; automotive structure; spot weld optimization;

    Abstract : Multidisciplinary design optimization (MDO) can be used in computer aided engineering (CAE) to efficiently improve and balance performance of automotive structures. However, large-scale MDO is not yet generally integrated within automotive product development due to several challenges, of which excessive computing times is the most important one. READ MORE

  5. 5. Estimation Using Low Rank Signal Models

    Author : Kaushik Mahata; Torsten Söderström; Mats Viberg; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; parameter estimation; separable least squares; statistical analysis; viscoelasticity; subspace algorithms; spectrum estimation; Signal processing; Signalbehandling;

    Abstract : Designing estimators based on low rank signal models is a common practice in signal processing. Some of these estimators are designed to use a single low rank snapshot vector, while others employ multiple snapshots. This dissertation deals with both these cases in different contexts. READ MORE
