6. The geology and genesis of lead-zinc veins in Sweden
Abstract : The geology and genesis of Pb-Zn-bearing vein deposits in Sweden have been studied through investigations of their geological setting, vein and alteration mineralogy, wall rock geochemistry, lead and sulfur isotope composition and sphalerite composition, and through thermometric measurements on fluid inclusions from selected veins. The investigated deposits include Subjotnian veins from Älvdalen, Dalslandian veins from Dalsland and Värmskog, Caledonian quartz and calcite veins, Devonian deposits in the Siljan Ring structure, and Variscan veins in SE Scania. 7. Vascular development : from embryonic stem cells to arteries and veins
Abstract : A fundamental question in developmental biology is how a single fertilized egg cell and its progeny are programmed or instructed to form thousands of different cell types and how these are organized into a complex and functional organism. In this thesis I have explored how a specific subset of cells is formed - the vascular endothelial cells lining our blood vessels. READ MORE

8. Lower limb venous incompetence and the effect of radiofrequency ablation versus open surgery : Focus on haemodynamics, quality of life and health economic aspects
Abstract : Chronic venous incompetence (CVI) is a common condition, and varicose vein treatment is one of the most-common surgical procedures performed worldwide. Common symptoms of CVI are pain, cramps, itching, feeling of leg heaviness and venous claudication. Advanced CVI can lead to skin changes, eczema and venous ulcers. READ MORE

9. Iatrogenic Vascular Injuries
Abstract : Iatrogenic vascular injuries (IVIs) and injuries associated with vascular surgery can cause severe morbidity and death. The aims of this thesis were to study those injuries in the Swedish vascular registry (Swedvasc), the Swedish medical injury insurance where insurance claims are registered, the Population and Cause of death registries, and in patient records, in order to explore preventive strategies. 10. Constraining the timing of veins, faults and fractures in crystalline rocks by in situ Rb-Sr geochronology
Abstract : Precambrian cratons are continent cores archiving the oldest crustal histories on Earth. The crystalline basement of cratons is typically characterized by complex arrays of multiple fracture and fault generations hosting minerals formed by fluids flowing through fracture networks.
