16. Single-photon multiple ionization processes studied by electron coincidence spectroscopy
Abstract : This thesis is based on studies of multiple ionization of atoms and molecules induced by the absorption of a single photon. For the experimental investigations a time-of-flight magnetic bottle spectrometer has been used to detect the emitted electrons in coincidence. READ MORE

17. Spin Properties in InAs/GaAs Quantum Dot based Nanostructures
Abstract : Semiconductor quantum dots (QDs) are a promising building block of future spin-functional devices for applications in spintronics and quantum information processing. Essential to the realization of such devices is our ability to create a desired spin orientation of charge carriers (electrons and holes), typically via injection of spin polarized carriers from other parts of the QD structures. 18. Silicon neural interfaces -Design and biomedical aspects-
Abstract : This thesis covers the development of a silicon neural interface, with focus on silicon sieve electrode fabrication, design, nerve regeneration, signal recording and biocompatibility. A study of how the via hole size and transparency of the perforated sieve membrane influences the nerve regeneration is presented together with a study on soft tissue responses to planar and porous silicon. 19. Studies of Semiconductors Modified with Nanoscale Light Absorbers for Solar Cell Application
Abstract : Recently, materials such as hole conductors (CuI, CuSCN) and light absorbers (Ru-complexes, CuInS2) have been actively investigated for application in nanocrystalline solar cells. In this thesis combinations of these materials have been studied. READ MORE

20. Development of SiC MESFET Based MMIC Technology
Abstract : A SiC MESFET based MMIC process has been successfully developed. This technology has its main potential in high power microwave circuits. It will offer the benefits of the high integration seen in GaAs MMIC at the same time as it will offer the benefits of the high voltage operation seen in Si LDMOS and Si BJTs. READ MORE
