  1. 1. Vibration Frequencies as Status Indicators for Tensegrity Structures

    Author : Nasseradeen Ashwear; Anders Eriksson; Karl-Gunnar Olsson; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Tensegrity; Pre-stress; Vibration; Health monitoring; Buckling; Temperature effect; Vibration health monitoring VHM; Tensegritet; Förspänning; Vibration; Hälsokontroll; Knäckning; Temperatureffekt; Vibrationsbaserad hälsokontroll; Engineering Mechanics; Teknisk mekanik;

    Abstract :  Applications of vibration structural health monitoring (VHM) techniques are increasing rapidly. This is because of the advances in sensors and instrumentation during the last decades. VHM uses the vibration properties to evaluate many civil structures during the design steps, building steps and service life. READ MORE

  2. 2. Attenuation of hand-held machine vibrations. Application of non-linear tuned vibration absorber

    Author : Hans Lindell; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Impact machine; Hand-arm vibration; High frequency vibration; ATVA; Nonlinear tuned vibration absorber; White finger; HAVS; Transient vibration; Auto Tuned Vibration Absorber; Vibration dynamics; ISO 5349;

    Abstract : Vibration injury in the hand-arm system from vibrating hand-held machines is one of the most common occupational health injuries and causes severe and often chronic nerve and vascular injuries to the operator. The objective with this study is to contribute to reduce hand-arm vibration injuries, first by developing methods of redesigning machines that will lower their vibration level and second to study how high frequency vibrations (HFV) above 1250 Hz effect the finger tissue which are not included in the current standard for risk evaluation. 3. 3. Floor vibration : dynamic properties and subjective perception

    Author : Fredrik Ljunggren; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Teknisk akustik; Engineering Acoustics;

    Abstract : This thesis covers research in the floor vibration field. Although lightweight steel framed constructions have been in focus, many results are applicable to floors in common and to some extent also to vibrations in general. READ MORE

  4. 4. On the Load Distribution and Design of a Chain Drive

    Author : Ingvar Troedsson; Maskinelement; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; tension force; tensioner; oscillation; chain drive; vibration; load distribution; Mechanical engineering; hydraulics; vacuum technology; vibration and acoustic engineering; Maskinteknik; hydraulik; vakuumteknik; vibrationer; akustik;

    Abstract : Three methods are presented to calculate the load distribution in a chain drive containing two sprockets and one chain. The rollers, which are in contact with the sprockets, can move along the tooth flanks and their positions are given by force equilibrium. READ MORE

  5. 5. Prediction of engine component loads using previous measurements

    Author : Pär Mikaelsson Elmén; Mårten Olsson; Jan-Olov Aidanpää; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; engine; engine block vibration; engine block twist; engine block bending; vibration measurement; vibration estimation; rigid body vibrations; assumed modes; bending modes; torsion modes; system modification; Hållfasthetslära; Solid Mechanics;

    Abstract : Internal combustion engines are used in many applications. The same engine type may have different components mounted to it depending upon its use. These engine mounted components need to be designed against fatigue in order to withstand the engine vibrations. Measured engine vibrations are commonly used as input data for fatigue estimation.
