  1. 1. Attenuation of hand-held machine vibrations. Application of non-linear tuned vibration absorber

    Author : Hans Lindell; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Impact machine; Hand-arm vibration; High frequency vibration; ATVA; Nonlinear tuned vibration absorber; White finger; HAVS; Transient vibration; Auto Tuned Vibration Absorber; Vibration dynamics; ISO 5349;

    Abstract : Vibration injury in the hand-arm system from vibrating hand-held machines is one of the most common occupational health injuries and causes severe and often chronic nerve and vascular injuries to the operator. The objective with this study is to contribute to reduce hand-arm vibration injuries, first by developing methods of redesigning machines that will lower their vibration level and second to study how high frequency vibrations (HFV) above 1250 Hz effect the finger tissue which are not included in the current standard for risk evaluation. Abstract : The main objective of the research presented in this thesis is to enhance driver comfort and handling of a heavy truck that in turn leads to better vehicle safety and stability. The focus has been put on studying two suspension systems of the truck, engine and front axle suspensions, due to their significant impact on the dynamic performance of the vehicle. READ MORE

  3. 3. The Bone Conduction Implant (BCI) - Preclinical Studies, Technical Design and a Clinical Evaluation

    Author : Hamidreza Taghavi; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []

    Abstract : The Bone Conduction Implant (BCI) system has been developed as an alternative to the percutaneous bone anchored hearing aid (BAHA) with the advantage that the skin is kept intact. The transducer is permanently implanted and attached to the skull via a flat surface contact to the temporal bone. READ MORE

  4. 4. Washing Machine Design Optimization Based on Dynamics Modeling

    Author : Thomas Nygårds; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Experiments; Multiobjective Optimization; Modeling; Vibration dynamics; Washing machine; Suspensions; Semi-active control.; Automatic balancing;

    Abstract : The spinning process in a washing machine is a source of undesired vibrations and noise and may cause discomfort both to the user as well as for the machine itself due to vibrations which have impact on system lifetime, reliability of operation and capacity.The aim of this thesis is to develop mathematical and computational models of a washing machine of modern type and use these models for dynamics analysis and in optimization routines to make improvements of the machine mechanical design. 5. 5. Towards active engine mounting systems for commercial vehicles: modeling and analysis

    Author : Hoda Yarmohamadi; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Nonlinear dynamic stiffness and damping; Actuators; Computational model; Conventional engine mount; Vibration isolation; Adaptronic mounting system; Model errors tolerance; Commercial vehicles;

    Abstract : The vehicle engine mounting system, which consists of several mounts connecting the engine to the vehicle structure, not only supports the weight of the engine but also isolates the noise, vibration and the transmitted forces to the vehicle structure. At present conventional elastomeric mounts are widely used in engine mounting systems for commercial vehicles. READ MORE
