  1. 1. Washing Machine Design Optimization Based on Dynamics Modeling

    Author : Thomas Nygårds; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Experiments; Multiobjective Optimization; Modeling; Vibration dynamics; Washing machine; Suspensions; Semi-active control.; Automatic balancing;

    Abstract : The spinning process in a washing machine is a source of undesired vibrations and noise and may cause discomfort both to the user as well as for the machine itself due to vibrations which have impact on system lifetime, reliability of operation and capacity.The aim of this thesis is to develop mathematical and computational models of a washing machine of modern type and use these models for dynamics analysis and in optimization routines to make improvements of the machine mechanical design. 2. 2. Dynamic modelling and analysis of vertical machines

    Author : Erik Synnegård; Matti Rantatalo; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Datorstödd maskinkonstruktion; Computer Aided Design;

    Abstract : Since Sweden’s hydropower plants are getting old and operating conditions have changed, there is a need for simulation tools to predict the functionality, durability and needs for maintenance. Also for breakdowns and major revisions, there is a benefit if dynamical problems could be predicted through simulations. READ MORE

  3. 3. Spindle vibration and sound field measurement using optical vibrometry

    Author : Kourosh Tatar; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Strömningslära; Fluid Mechanics;

    Abstract : Mechanical systems often produce a considerable amount of vibration and noise. To be able to obtain a complete picture of the dynamic behaviour of these systems, vibration and sound measurements are of significant importance. Optical metrology is well-suited for non-intrusive measurements on complex objects. READ MORE

  4. 4. Coupled vibrations in horizontal and vertical rotor-bearings systems

    Author : Jean-Claude Luneno; Magnus Karlberg; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Technology - Engineering mechanics; Teknikvetenskap - Teknisk mekanik; Hållfasthetslära; Solid Mechanics;

    Abstract : For dynamical systems having several degrees of freedom, motion in one direction can induce motion in the other and/or vice versa. This means that there is a certain coupling between these two motions. Coupling can in some cases be a source of instability that causes self-excited vibrations in rotating machinery. READ MORE

  5. 5. Suspension design for off-road construction machines

    Author : Adam Rehnberg; Lars Drugge; Annika Stensson Trigell; David Crolla; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; construction machine; engineering vehicle; earth mover; wheel loader; vehicle dynamics; vehicle engineering; whole body vibrations; off-road vehicle; anläggningsmaskin; entreprenadmaskin; hjullastare; fordonsdynamik; fordonsteknik; helkroppsvibrationer; terrängfordon; Vehicle engineering; Farkostteknik;

    Abstract : Construction machines, also referred to as engineering vehicles or earth movers, are used in a variety of tasks related to infrastructure development and material handling. While modern construction machines represent a high level of sophistication in several areas, their suspension systems are generally rudimentary or even nonexistent. READ MORE
