  2. 2. Towards Enhancing Awareness in Designing Collaborative Computing Systems

    Author : Khanh Duy Le; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; social network; Workspace awareness; vibro-tactile feedback; Contextual awareness; Social awareness; distributed creative group work; tabletop; Awareness; Collaboration;

    Abstract : Awareness is critical to the success of collaborative activities. User awareness (from here on: awareness) is a system’s capacity to provide comprehensible and appropriate communication cues from one user to the other users of the same system. READ MORE

  3. 3. Learning to Analyze Visual Data Streams for Environment Perception

    Author : Emil Brissman; Michael Felsberg; Bastian Leibe; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : A mobile robot, instructed by a human operator, acts in an environment with many other objects. However, for an autonomous robot, human instructions should be minimal and only high-level instructions, such as the ultimate task or destination. READ MORE

  4. 4. Bio-inspired retinal optic flow perception in robotic navigation

    Author : Björnborg Nguyen; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; robotic navigation; active fixation; visual perception; bionics; Retinal optic flow fields; gazing; optic flow; retinal flow path;

    Abstract : This thesis concerns the bio-inspired visual perception of motion with emphasis on locomotion targeting robotic systems. By continuously registering moving visual features in the human retina, a sensation of a visual flow cue is created. An interpretation of visual flow cues forms a low-level motion perception more known as retinal optic flow. READ MORE

  5. 5. System-Level Design of GPU-Based Embedded Systems

    Author : Arian Maghazeh; Zebo Peng; Petru Ion Eles; Unmesh D. Bordoloi; Akash Kumar; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; GPU; GPGPU; embedded system; heterogeneous computing; system-level design;

    Abstract : Modern embedded systems deploy several hardware accelerators, in a heterogeneous manner, to deliver high-performance computing. Among such devices, graphics processing units (GPUs) have earned a prominent position by virtue of their immense computing power. READ MORE
