  1. 11. Multi-sensory cues in interplay and congruency in a retail store context : Consumer emotions and purchase behaviors

    Author : Miralem Helmefalk; Magnus Söderlund; Linnéuniversitetet; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Atmospherics; Congruency; Emotions; Multi-Sensory; Purchase behaviors; Sensory cues; Sensory interplay; Sensory marketing; Marketing; Marknadsföring;

    Abstract : While research has shown the positive impact of sensory cues and cue- congruency on emotion and behavior in retail store atmospheres, these cues have primarily been investigated in isolation or in pairs. Consequently, little is known on how multi-sensory cues in interplay impact on consumer emotions and purchase behaviors. READ MORE

  2. 12. Visual response to attentional demand in increasing levels of automation: A situated approach

    Author : Alberto Morando; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; real-world driving; naturalistic data; human factors; automation; visual behavior; driving demand; Attention;

    Abstract : Introduction: Adaptive cruise control (ACC) is a system that automates the longitudinal control of the vehicle, and maintains safety margins to a lead vehicle. ACC has been shown to have positive safety effects in reducing the exposure to critical situations. READ MORE

  3. 13. Figure-ground segmentation using multiple cues

    Author : Peter Nordlund; KTH; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : The theme of this thesis isfigure-ground segmentation.We address the problem in thecontext of a visual observer, e.g. a mobile robot, movingaround in the world and capable of shifting its gaze to andfixating on objects in its environment. READ MORE

  4. 14. Components of Embodied Visual Object Recognition : Object Perception and Learning on a Robotic Platform

    Author : Marcus Wallenberg; Per-Erik Forssén; Mårten Björkman; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; computer vision; object recognition; stereo vision; classification;

    Abstract : Object recognition is a skill we as humans often take for granted. Due to our formidable object learning, recognition and generalisation skills, it is sometimes hard to see the multitude of obstacles that need to be overcome in order to replicate this skill in an artificial system. 5. 15. Olfactory cues and insects - scaling relations and immigration rates

    Author : Petter Andersson; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : växtekologi; Plant Ecology;

    Abstract : For herbivorous insects, location of host plants and habitat patches strongly depend on the type of sensory cue that is used during the search process and the probability of detecting a patch depends on the relative attraction between patches of different size. The visual impression of a patch increases predictably with the patch diameter and consequently, immigration rates of visually searching insects are often predicted by the scaling to patch size of visual cues.
