  1. 1. Volterra Modeling and Estimation of the Human Smooth Pursuit

    Author : Viktor Bro; Alexander Medvedev; Geoff Chase; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Volterra models; Volterra-Laguerre models; Nonlinear modeling; Smooth pursuit; Eye tracking; Elektroteknik med inriktning mot reglerteknik; Electrical Engineering with specialization in Automatic Control;

    Abstract : This thesis treats the mathematical modeling of the human smooth pursuit system using Volterra-Laguerre models. The smooth pursuit system allows for tracking of moving objects. Since it is a complex system including the muscles of the eye, nerves and certain parts of the brain, the system may be impaired if some part is compromised. READ MORE

  2. 2. Characterization and Compensation of Hardware Impairments in Transmitters for Wireless Communications

    Author : Zain Ahmed Khan; Peter Händel; Magnus Isaksson; Mikko Valkama; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Power amplifier; RF transmitters; SISO; MIMO; crosstalk; Volterra series; Volterra kernels; behavioral modeling; DPD; Ramanujan sums; multitone signals; I Q Imbalance; non-linearity; memory polynomial; density estimation; hardware impairments; Electrical Engineering; Elektro- och systemteknik;

    Abstract : Increasing demands for data rate, energy efficiency and reliability in wireless communications have resulted in the introduction of radio frequency (RF) multiple input multiple output (MIMO) transmitters. However, MIMO transmitters suffer from additional crosstalk impairments along with the power amplifier (PA) and I/Q imbalance distortions observed in single input single output (SISO) transmitters. 3. 3. Characterisation and Modelling of Graphene FETs for Terahertz Mixers and Detectors

    Author : MICHAEL ANDERSSON; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; graphene; millimetre and submillimetre waves; power detectors; nonlinear device modelling; microwave amplifiers; nanofabrication; integrated circuits; noise modelling; Field-effect transistors FETs ; terahertz detectors; Volterra; subharmonic resistive mixers;

    Abstract : Graphene is a two-dimensional sheet of carbon atoms with numerous envisaged applications owing to its exciting properties. In particular, ultrahigh-speed graphene field effect transistors (GFETs) are possible due to the unprecedented carrier velocities in ideal graphene. READ MORE

  4. 4. Digital Compensation Techniques for Transmitters inWireless Communications Networks

    Author : Efrain Zenteno; Peter Händel; Magnus Isaksson; Thomas Brazil; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Digital compensation; MIMO; wireless communications; satellite; Volterra; Amplfiers; HW effects; Informations- och kommunikationsteknik; Information and Communication Technology;

    Abstract : Since they appeared, wireless technologies have deeply transformed our society. Today, wireless internet access and other wireless applications demandincreasingly more traffic. However, the continuous traffic increase can be unbearableand requires rethinking and redesigning the wireless technologies inmany different aspects. READ MORE

  5. 5. Volterra and Algebraic Approaches to the Zero Dynamics

    Author : Håkan Fortell; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Abstract : The zero dynamics is a property of affi.ne nonlinear systems w hich has been extensively studied during the last decade. Its properties are important in several contexts such as exact linearization, stabilization and sliding mode control. READ MORE
