  1. 11. New concepts and techniques for quantification and trace analysis by gas chromatography

    Author : Johan Pettersson; Johan Roerrade; Jan Åke Jönsson; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Chemistry; quantitative accuracy; calibration; extenal standards; valume contraction; molar excess volume; Kemi; Chemistry; Kemi;

    Abstract : In the first part of this thesis, strategies for avoiding systematic errors when quantifying the main components in mixtures of solvents has been developed (paper I). It is shown that variations in density caused by variations in sample composition and/or volume contraction need to be taken into account. In this way, quantification can be improved. READ MORE

  2. 12. Design and Optimization of In-Cycle Closed-Loop Combustion Control with Multiple Injections

    Author : Carlos Jorques Moreno; Förbränningsmotorer; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Diesel Combustion; Pilot-Main Injection; Pilot Mass Estimation; Cylinder Volume Estimation; Bayesian Estimation; In-Cycle Combustion Controllability; In-Cycle Combustion Control; Model Predictive Combustion Control; Stochastic Combustion Optimization; Hardware Quantification;

    Abstract : With the increasing demand of transportation, biofuels play a fundamental role in the transition to sustainable powertrains. For the increased uncertainty of biofuel combustion properties, advanced combustion control systems have the potential to operate the engine with high flexibility while maintaining a high efficiency and robustness. 3. 13. Hybrid Solvers for the Maxwell Equations in Time-Domain

    Author : Fredrik Edelvik; Per Lötstedt; Jan Hesthaven; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Maxwell s equations; time-domain; finite volume methods; finite element methods; hybrid solver; dispersive materials; thin wires; Beräkningsvetenskap; Scientific Computing;

    Abstract : The most commonly used method for the time-domain Maxwell equations is the Finite-Difference Time-Domain method (FDTD). This is an explicit, second-order accurate method, which is used on a staggered Cartesian grid. The main drawback with the FDTD method is its inability to accurately model curved objects and small geometrical features. READ MORE

  4. 14. Silviculture of oak for high-quality wood production : effects of thinning on crown size, volume growth and stem quality in even-aged stands of pedunculate oak (Quercus robur L.) in Northern Europe

    Author : Giulia Attocchi; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; []
    Keywords : LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : Oak is one of the most valuable noble hardwood species in Europe. The production of high-quality wood is associated with long rotations and high labour costs. READ MORE

  5. 15. Third Party Logistics : Outsourcing Logistics in Partnerships

    Author : Dan Andersson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Logistics; Third-Party Logistics; Contract Logistics; Outsourcing; Partnerships; Operational Alliances; Physical Distribution; Materials Management;

    Abstract : The purpose of this dissertation is to contribute the body of knowledge of the outsourcing of logistics services in integrated relationships between a shipper ( e.g. a manufacturer) and a logistics service provider (e.g. READ MORE
