1. Bridging the gap between guidelines and clinical practice an educational intervention in primary care
Abstract : The aim of this study was to develop a new kind of information programme to be provided by community pharmacists to groups of doctors at community health centres in Sweden, and to test the effectiveness of this programme in improving the primary care doctors' clinical performance. A randomised controlled trial was carried out within the primary health care system in Sweden in order to assess the impact on clinical practice in the intervention group compared with doctors in the control group who only received regular written information material. Abstract : Background: In 2005, the Västerbotten County Council launched a child health promotion programme, “the Salut Programme”, in response to an alarming prevalence of overweight and obesity, and trends of increased dental caries, among young county citizens. The programme, initially developed in four pilot areas, is built on multidisciplinary and cross-sectoral collaboration and aims to support and strengthen health promotion activities in health care, social services and school settings. 4. Physician Sickness Certification Practice focusing on views and barriers among general practitioners and orthopaedic surgeons
Abstract : There is no common understanding on what constitutes good sick-listing, a frequent and problematic task for many physicians, especially general practitioners (GPs) and orthopaedic surgeons. Aiming to achieve a deeper understanding of sick-listing practices, 19 GPs (I, III) and 18 orthopaedic surgeons (II) in four counties were interviewed, and data analysed qualitatively for views on good sickness certification and barriers to desired practice.
