1. Homogenization of some new mathematical models in lubrication theory
Abstract : We consider mathematical modeling of thin film flow between two rough surfaces which are in relative motion. For example such flows take place in different kinds of bearings and gears when a lubricant is used to reduce friction and wear between the surfaces. READ MORE

2. On pressure-driven Hele-Shaw flow
Abstract : The present licentiate thesis is devoted to the rigorous derivation of the equations governing thin-film flow of incompressible Newtonian and non-Newtonian fluids. More precisely, we consider flow in a generalized Hele-Shaw cell, which is a thin three-dimensional domain confined between two surfaces connected by cylindrical obstacles of various shapes. 4. Annular Motion : Assessment of Cardiac Function using Echocardiography and Magnetic Resonance Imaging
Abstract : This thesis concentrates on the assessment of cardiac function, both systolic and diastolic using variables originating from the longitudinal motion of the heart using both established and novel non-invasive imaging techniques. We developed a new magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) technique that creates an M-mode MRI image, analogous to the one used in echocardiography and enables quantitative assessment of cardiac motion. 5. Multidimensional MRI of Cardiac Motion : Acquisition, Reconstruction and Visualization
Abstract : Methods for measuring deformation and motion of the human heart in-vivo are crucial in the assessment of cardiac function. Applications ranging from basic physiological research, through early detection of disease to follow-up studies, all benefit from improved methods of measuring the dynamics of the heart. READ MORE
