  1. 1. Preparation and characterisation of perovskite and noble metal promoted oxide based catalysts

    Author : Leif Dahl; Ragnar Larsson; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Chemistry; Kemi; oorganisk kemi; Inorganic Chemistry;

    Abstract : This work concerns efforts to improve or replace noble-metal based catalysts used for car exhaust purification.Various oxide based catalysts have been prepared by impregnating washcoats such as (-Al2O3 and SiO2 with appropriate metal ions, and assemblies calcinated at elevated temperatures have been tested for catalytic activity in the oxidation of CO and C3H6 and reduction of NO. 2. 2. Microstructural Changes in Deactivated Noble Metal Catalysts

    Author : Bertil Stenbom; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Abstract : The structural deactivation of supported noble metal catalysts has been investigated for treatments at different temperatures and in different atmospheres. The sintering rates of Pt/Al2O3, Rh/Al2O3, and Pt-Rh/Al2O3 catalysts were measured using temperature-programmed desorption of CO (CO-TPD) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). READ MORE

  3. 3. Rhodium diesel-reforming catalysts for fuel cell applications

    Author : Xanthias Karatzas; Lars J. Pettersson; James Spivey; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Autothermal reforming; auxiliary power unit; BET; chemisorption; diesel; fuel cell; hydrogen; monolith; reforming catalyst; reformer design; Rh; RhPt alloy; TEM; TPO; TPR; XRD; XPS; zone coating; Chemical engineering; Kemiteknik;

    Abstract : Heavy-duty diesel truck engines are routinely idled at standstill to provide cab heating or air conditioning, and in addition to supply electricity to comfort units such as radio and TV. Idling is an inefficient and unfavorable process resulting in increased fuel consumption, increased emissions, shortened engine life, impaired driver rest and health, and elevated noise. READ MORE
