  1. 1. Water powered percussive rock drilling : process analysis, modelling and numerical simulation

    Author : Göran Tuomas; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Vattenteknik; Water Resources Engineering;

    Abstract : This thesis is devoted to problems, processes and systems related to the recently developed water powered percussive rock drilling method. The technology, which uses ordinary water to drive down-the-hole hammers, has been used to produce more than 6 million meters of blast holes within the mining industry. READ MORE

  2. 2. Evaluation of Modern Irrigation Techniques with Brackish Water

    Author : Tarek Selim Aboulila; Avdelningen för Teknisk vattenresurslära; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Soil water; Soil Salinity; Drip irrigation; HYDRUS-2D 3D; El-Salam Canal; Egypt.;

    Abstract : Modern irrigation techniques are becoming increasingly important in water-scarce countries especially in arid and semiarid regions. Higher crop production and better water use efficiency are usually achieved by drip irrigation as compared to other irrigation methods. READ MORE

  3. 3. Topical formulations, design and drug delivery : "A dive into water"

    Author : Abdullah Ali; Marie Lodén; Anan Yagmur; Anders Hall; Malmö universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; water; topical formulations; Pickering emulsion; skin cream; drug delivery; tactile friction; sensory panel; nasal; buccal; mucosa; skin; triglycerides; ethanol; drug transport; cosmetic appeal;

    Abstract : Water is a vital component regulating the properties of topical formulations and their interaction with biological barriers, such as skin and mucosa. Changing the watercontent within the frame of the pharmaceutical triangle will have a huge impact on which type of formulation, such as a cream, ointment, gel, or lotion, is formed, as well as the physical properties of the formulation. 4. 4. Heat and water flows in freezing and thawing soils : numerical modelling, laboratory and field observations

    Author : Helén Engelmark; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Vattenteknik; Water Resources Engineering;

    Abstract : A laboratory study of infiltration rates into frozen and unfrozen fine sand, including temperature effects of both soil and infiltration water, is reported. The average infiltration rate varied from about 10.6 mm/min for unfrozen conditions, to about 1-2 mm/min for frozen conditions. READ MORE

  5. 5. Interactions Between Water and Cellulose Esters

    Author : Robin Nilsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; cellulose acetate; wide-angle X-ray scattering; water absorption; Hansen Solubility Parameters; glass transition; water diffusion;

    Abstract : Biopolymers, which are produced from natural sources, are gaining interest as a potential replacement for fossil-based polymers. As such, they are already widely used in several industries, including the food, healthcare, and personal care industries. READ MORE
