  1. 1. Studies of water vapor transport and sorption in wood

    Author : Lars Wadsö; Avdelningen för Byggnadsmaterial; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; evaluation; measurements; non-Fickian behavior; absorption; sorption method; transient; unsteady-state; wood; sorption; surface mass transfer coefficient; water vapor; error analysis;

    Abstract : This thesis deals with the evaluation of measurements of water vapor transport and sorption in wood. It mainly concerns measurements of the weight response of a sample after a step change in relative humidity. The thesis consists of an introduction and eight papers. The eight papers have the following contents: 1. READ MORE

  3. 3. Studies of Atmospheric Water Vapor Using the Global Positioning System

    Author : Ragne Emardson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; troposphere; microwave radiometry; climatology; radiosondes; atmospheric water vapor; Global Positioning System; time series analysis; VLBI; space geodesy; GPS; Very Long Baseline Interferometry; meteorology; radio wave propagation; Kalman filtering;

    Abstract : Atmospheric water vapor is of fundamental interest in the Global Positioning System (GPS) and Very Long Baseline Interferometry (VLBI) techniques. These techniques are based on the timing of radio waves propagating through the atmosphere. READ MORE

  4. 4. Sensing Atmospheric Water Vapor Using Radio Waves: Studies of the 2, 3 and 4-D Structure of the Atmospheric Water Vapor Using Ground-based Radio Techniques Comprising the Global Positioning System, Microwave Radiometry and Very Long Baseline Interferometry

    Author : Lubomir Gradinarsky; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; microwave radiometry; global positioning system GPS ; water vapor; tomography; meteorology; propagation delay; delay gradients; climate;

    Abstract : The radio wave propagation time, the primary observable in the geodetic techniques Global Positioning System (GPS) and Very Long Baseline Interferometry (VLBI) is affected by the presence of the atmospheric gases. By using appropriate modeling in the post-processing of the recorded phase measurements, together with local meteorological information, it is possible to estimate the total amount of atmospheric water vapor. 5. 5. Analysis of Temporal and Spatial Variations in Atmospheric Water Vapor Using Microwave Radiometry

    Author : Per O. J. Jarlemark; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; time series analysis; microwave radiometry; atmospheric turbulence; global positioning system; space geodesy; GPS; meteorology; very long baseline interferometry; VLBI; climatology; radio wave propagation; atmospheric water vapor;

    Abstract : The amount of atmospheric water vapor is highly variable in both time and space. In this thesis some aspects of the variations in the atmospheric water vapor are treated. READ MORE
