  1. 1. Wireless esophageal PH monitoring. Clinical evaluation of a new technique

    Author : Jörgen Wenner; Lund Kirurgi; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Surgery; orthopaedics; traumatology; Kirurgi; thresholds; specificity; sensitivity; diagnostic accuracy; adverse symptoms; wireless; pH monitoring; gastroesophageal reflux disease; ortopedi; traumatologi;

    Abstract : Esophageal pH monitoring is important in the clinical management of patients with symptoms suggestive of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), and in research aiming to clarify the mechanisms involved in the development of GERD complications. Catheter-based techniques for pH recording are uncomfortable, not well tolerated by all patients and cannot reliably measure acid exposure in the most distal esophagus the region most prone to reflux-induced complications. 2. 2. Label Cover Reductions for Unconditional Approximation Hardness of Constraint Satisfaction

    Author : Cenny Wenner; Johan Håstad; Irit Dinur; Numerical Analysis and Computer Science (NADA) Faculty of Science Stockholm University; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Optimization; NP; Approximation; Approximability; Inapproximability; Constraint Satisfaction; CSP; Boolean Analysis; Satisfiability; SAT; Acyclic Subgraph; Betweenness; Unique Games; Computer Science; Datalogi;

    Abstract : Problem solving is an integral aspect of modern society and includes such tasks as picking the fastest route to work, optimizing a production line, scheduling computer tasks, placing new bus stops, or picking a meal from available ingredients.We study the hardness of solving Constraint Satisfaction Problems (CSPs). Author : Cenny Wenner; Johan Håstad; Viggo Kann; Irit Dinur; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Combinatorial Optimization; Complexity Theory; Approximation; Approximability; Inapproximability; Computational Hardness; NP; Optimization; Constraint Satisfaction; Kombinatorisk optimering; Komplexitetsteori; Beräkningsteori; Approximation; Approximerbarhet; Beräkningssvårighet; NP; Optimering; Vilkorssatisfiering; Vilkorsuppfyllning; Vilkorstillfredställand; datalogi; Computer Science;

    Abstract : Combinatorial optimization include such tasks as finding the quickest route to work, scheduling jobs to specialists, and placing bus stops so as to minimize commuter times. We consider problems where one is given a collection of constraints with the objective of finding an assignment satisfying as many constraints as possible, also known as Constraint Satisfaction Problems (CSPs). Abstract : The Wenner-Gren Center in Stockholm, built between 1954 and 1966, consists of three buildings dedicated to interdisciplinary and scientific research, designed by Sune Lindström and Alf Bydén of Vattenbyggnadsbyrån (VBB). The project was sponsored by Axel Wenner-Gren, and received support from the Swedish state through the donation of a property at the northern end of Stockholm’s thoroughfare Sveavägen. READ MORE
