  1. 1. Window-based congestion control : Modeling, analysis and design

    Author : Niels Möller; Karl Henrik Johansson; Rayadurgam Srikant; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Internet; Congestion control; Window-based; Telecommunication; Telekommunikation;

    Abstract : This thesis presents a model for the ACK-clock inner loop, common to virtually all Internet congestion control protocols, and analyzes the stability properties of this inner loop, as well as the stability and fairness properties of several window update mechanisms built on top of the ACK-clock. Aided by the model for the inner-loop, two new congestion control mechanisms are constructed, for wired and wireless networks. READ MORE

  2. 2. Windows of Opportunities : The Glazed Area and its Impact on the Energy Balance of Buildings

    Author : Mari-Louise Persson; Arne Roos; Maria Wall; Ida Bryn; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : Engineering physics; building simulations; DEROB-LTH; glazing; window size; energy efficiency; glazed area; Teknisk fysik;

    Abstract : The impact of window area on the energy balance of a building was investigated by simulations in DEROB-LTH. The glazed area was varied in three types of buildings with different types of glazing and for several climates.One low energy house was compared to a less insulated house but identical in size and layout. 3. 3. Predicting Electrochromic Smart Window Performance

    Author : Johnny Degerman Engfeldt; Göran Lindbergh; Carina Lagergren; Kerstin Forsberg; James Gardner; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Electrochromic; Electrooptics; Smart windows; Prediction model; Large Area Device model;

    Abstract : The building sector is one of the largest consumers of energy, where the cooling of buildings accounts for a large portion of the total energy consumption. Electrochromic (EC) smart windows have a great potential for increasing indoor comfort and saving large amounts of energy for buildings. READ MORE

  4. 4. Electron-Impact Liquid-Jet Water-Window X-ray Sources

    Author : Peter Anders Skoglund Lindberg; Hans M. Hertz; Oscar Tjernberg; KTH; []
    Keywords : TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIKVETENSKAP;

    Abstract : This Thesis describes the development and characterization of a soft x-ray liquidjet-anode electron-impact source. With a water-jet target the primary emission is the O Kα line at 525 eV. This is close to the lower edge of the water-window, a spectral region lacking simple laboratory sources. READ MORE

  5. 5. Electron beam powder bed fusion of Nitinol : A development from production process window towards delicate structures

    Author : Lin Zeyu; Amir Rashid; Carolin Körner; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Production Engineering; Industriell produktion;

    Abstract : Electron beam powder bed fusion (PBF-EB) is increasingly attracting attention for manufacturing the near-net shape parts due to its incomparable merits, such as free residual stress and superior mechanical performance. Nickel Titanium (NiTi) as the most widely used functional alloy, has not been systematically explored for manufacturing using PBF-EB despite the perfect vacuum and high temperature manufacturing environment.
