    Author : Teng Zhang; Carla Puglia; Nils Mårtensson; Svante Svensson; Mats Götelid; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Synchrotron radiation; Phthalocyanine; Cobalt phthalocyanine; Biphenylene; Functional materials; CoPc; Photoemission spectroscopy; Absorption spectroscopy; PES; XAS; Electronic structure; Gas phase; film; Organic molecule;

    Abstract : In this licentiate thesis, organic molecules, namely Cobalt Phthalocyanine (CoPc) and Biphenylene, have been studied by means of synchrotron radiation-based spectroscopic methods (Photoemission Spectroscopy (PES) and X-ray Absorption Spectroscopy (XAS) in combination with Density Functional Theory (DFT) calculations.Paper I is a combined experimental and theoretical investigation of electronic structure of CoPc. 2. 22. Photoemission Electron Microscopy for Ultrafast Nano-Optics - Femtoseconds to Attoseconds

    Author : Erik Mårsell; Synkrotronljusfysik; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Nanorice; Spatiotemporal imaging; Attosecond pulses; Fysicumarkivet A:2016:Mårsell; Nanowires; Silver nanostructures; Femtosecond laser pulses; PEEM; Plasmonics; Ultrafast nano-optics;

    Abstract : Ultrafast nano-optics is a new and quickly evolving research field centred around the control, manipulation, and application of light on a nanometre and femtosecond scale. This can lead to improved electro-optical devices, more sensitive spectroscopy, and real-time control of chemical reactions. READ MORE

  3. 23. Multi-Photon Interactions with a Time Structure

    Author : Alexander Baev; KTH; []
    Keywords : nonlinear optics; two-photon absorption; mirrorless lasing; charge-transfer chromophores; solutions; resonant photoemission; life-time vibrational interference; scattering duration time; electron Doppler effect; polymers;

    Abstract : The present thesis concerns aspects of the interaction ofmatter in gas, liquid and solid phases, with electromagneticradiation, ranging from the optical to the X-ray region. Overthe last decade the availability of ultrashort strong laserpulses as well as of high power synchrotron sources of tunableX-ray radiation has stimulated a rapid development of newexperimental techniques which makes it possible to analysedifferent physical, chemical and biological processes inunprecedented detail. 4. 24. Thin Mn silicide and germanide layers studied by photoemission and STM

    Author : Joakim Hirvonen Grytzelius; Lars Johansson; Hanmin Zhang; Leif Johansson; Karlstads universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Semiconductor surfaces; Si 111 ; Ge 111 ; manganese; Mn; silicides; germanides; atomic structure; electronic structure; magnetic properties; LEED; ARPES; XPS; core-level spectroscopy; STM; STS; XMCD; Physics; Fysik;

    Abstract : The research presented in this thesis concerns experimental studies of thin manganese silicide and germanide layers, grown by solid phase epitaxy on the Si(111)7×7 and the Ge(111)c(2×8) surfaces, respectively. The atomic and electronic structures, as well as growth modes of the epitaxial Mn-Si and Mn-Ge layers, were investigated by low-energy electron diffraction (LEED), angle-resolved photoelectron spectroscopy (ARPES), core-level spectroscopy (CLS), and scanning tunneling microscopy and spectroscopy (STM and STS). 5. 25. III–V Nanowire Surfaces

    Author : Martin Hjort; NanoLund: Centre for Nanoscience; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; low energy electron microscopy; scanning tunneling spectroscopy; scanning tunneling microscopy; surface; III–V semiconductor materials; nanowire; photoemission electron microscopy; photoelectron spectroscopy; Fysicumarkivet A:2014:Hjort;

    Abstract : This dissertation deals with the geometric and electronic structure of surfaces on III–V semiconductor nanowires (NWs). NWs made of InAs, GaAs, and InP have been studied using scanning tunneling microscopy/spectroscopy (STM/S), low energy electron microscopy (LEEM), photoemission electron microscopy (PEEM), and x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS).
