  1. 1. Novel in vitro methods aiming at improving fertility preservation

    Author : Xia Hao; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : The well-established fertility preservative methods for female cancer patients include the cryopreservation of embryos, mature oocytes and ovarian tissue before the initiation of gonadotoxic cancer treatment. Due to a diversity of clinical and practical situations, there are limitations of these methods, creating the necessity to develop further solutions, and there is also a lack of knowledge on the effect of recent gonadotoxic cancer treatment in the ovarian potential. 2. 2. Gene-environment interactions in rheumatoid arthritis : quantification and characterization of contributing factors

    Author : Xia Jiang; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic autoimmune inflammatory disease characterised by persistent synovitis, systemic inflammation and autoantibodies. RA has a complex aetiology with the involvement of genetic factors and environmental triggers, and their interactions. READ MORE

  3. 3. Biological ages : correlations, genetic determinants, and health outcomes

    Author : Xia Li; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Population aging is a global trend and requires better evidence-based guidance. This thesis studied population aging from a molecular epidemiological angle. READ MORE

  4. 4. Characterizations of as grown and functionalized epitaxial graphene grown on SiC surfaces

    Author : Chao Xia; Chariya Virojanadara; Lars Hultman; Thomas Seyller; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : The superior electronic and mechanical properties of Graphene have promoted graphene to become one of the most promising candidates for next generation of electronic devices. Epitaxial growth of graphene by sublimation of Si from Silicon Carbide (SiC) substrates avoids the hazardous transfer process for large scale fabrication of graphene based electronic devices. 5. 5. Development of Natural Mineral Composites for Low-Temperature Solid Oxide Fuel Cells

    Author : Chen Xia; Andrew R. Martin; Peter Lund; Yongdan Li; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Natural hematite; Natural rare-earth; LT-SOFCs; composite electrolytes; material characterization; conductivity; electrochemical performance.; Chemical Engineering; Kemiteknik; Teknisk materialvetenskap; Materials Science and Engineering;

    Abstract : Solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) have attracted growing attention worldwide because of their high conversion efficiency and low emissions when paired with clean fuel sources. Currently, reducing the temperature of SOFC to a low-temperature (LT) range is a mainstream trend of SOFC research. READ MORE
