1. Synthesis and Characterization of Nanoprobes for X-Ray Fluorescence Computed Tomography (XFCT) Bio-imaging
Abstract : X-ray fluorescence computed tomography (XFCT) is an emerging biomedical imaging technique. The KTH-XFCT laboratory system offers a characteristic 24 keV emission line, and high spatial resolution (200 ?m) images. XFCT as a newly emerging modality also requires the exploration and development of suitable contrast agents. READ MORE

2. Colloidal zeolites : from nucleation to zoned films by seeded growth
Abstract : The work presented in this thesis concerns the investigation of nucleation kinetics for colloidal zeolites, especially the determination of the nucleation period during crystallization. It also concerns the use of colloidal TPA-silicalite-1 for the preparation of zoned MFI films. READ MORE

3. Endothelin-1-immunoreactive protein and neuroendocrine differentiation and nerve supply in human non-neoplastic and neoplastic adrenal cortex : Immunohistochemical, ultrastructural, and biochemical findings
Abstract : The occurrence and distribution of endothelin (ET)-1-immunoreactive (ir) protein, neuro-endocrine markers and neurohormonal peptides in endocrine cells and nerves in human non-neoplastic and neoplastic adrenal cortex are described.ET-1-ir cell groups were regularly seen in human adrenal cortex, mainly in zona fasciculata, but not in the medulla. 4. Measurement of the Dalitz Plot Distribution for η→π+π−π0 with KLOE
Abstract : The mechanism of the isospin violating η→π+π−π0 decay is studied in a high precision experiment using a Dalitz plot analysis. The process is sensitive to the difference between up and down quark masses. READ MORE

5. Toward Energy-efficient Physical Vapor Deposition : Routes for Replacing Substrate Heating during Magnetron Sputtering by Employing Metal Ion Irradiation
Abstract : In this Thesis, magnetron sputtering is perfected as an environmental-friendly deposition technique. I performed systematic studies of a novel approach - hybrid high-power impulse and dc magnetron co-sputtering (HiPIMS/DCMS) with metal-ion-synchronized substrate bias pulses. READ MORE
