Abstract :
The aims of the studies underlying this thesis were to assess workers’ air exposure to wood dust and various chemicals, and to evaluate the variability in exposure and occupational dermal exposure to resin acids during the production of wood pellets in Sweden. Personal air measurements of wood dust, monoterpenes, resin acids and nitrogen dioxide (as a marker of diesel exhaust), accompanied by area measurements of these substances, VOCs and carbon monoxide, were performed at up to ten plants. Abstract :
This study challenges the prevailing assumption that the expansion of cultivated land areas and increasing number of livestock in the agro-pastoral regions of northern China have aggravated the process of land degradation since the start of the rural reforms in 1978. Land-use and productivity trends in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region (IMAR), with special attention to the Keerqin steppe region, have been analysed. READ MORE

Abstract :
Silicon nanowires (SiNW) are in the spotlight for a few years in the research community as a good candidate for biosensing applications. This is attributed to their small dimensions in nanometer scale that offers high sensitivity, label-free detection and at the same time utilizing small amount of sample. READ MORE

Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;
Abstract :
Fission yields represent the probability of producing a certain nuclide in a fission event, and are important observables for fission research. For applications, accurate knowledge of the yields is fundamental at all stages of the fuel cycle of nuclear reactors, e.g., for reactivity calculations, or to estimate (spent) fuel inventory. Abstract :
Sub-Saharan Africa is presently experiencing a steadily aggravated food security crisis. This crisis is a result of a rapidly growing population combined with insignificant yield increases of the major cereal crops maize, millet and sorghum, during the last decades. READ MORE
