7. On Bone Regeneration in Porous Bioceramics - Studies in humans and rabbits using free form fabricated scaffolds
Abstract : The objective of the present thesis was to evaluate the effect of material chemistry and macroand micro-porosity on bone regeneration in association with synthetic, porous ceramic materials. Ceramic scaffolds were designed and manufactured for experimental and human studies using free form fabrication (FFF), a technique which produces the object layer by layer using data from CAD files. 8. Continuous Fibre Reinforced Oxide/Oxide Composites
Abstract : The appealing properties of ceramics include retention of strength and hardness at high temperatures, chemical inertness and low density. However, monolithic ceramics fail in a brittle, unpredictable manner making them unsuitable for many applications where reliability is a key requirement. READ MORE

9. On core and bi-layered all-ceramic fixed dental prostheses, design and mechanical properties : studies on stabilized zirconiumdioxide
Abstract : Loss of teeth can affect a person’s self-esteem, social life, appearance and oral function. Reconstruction of a missing tooth has scientifically been shown to increase self-esteem and quality of life and to maintain oral function. For many patients a fixed dental prostheses (FDP) is preferred, either tooth- or implant-supported. READ MORE

10. Ionic Transport in Metal Oxides Studied in situ by Impedance Spectroscopy and Cyclic Voltammetry
Abstract : Ionic transport in metal oxides is crucial for the functioning of a broad range of different components, such as heat resistant alloys designed for high temperature applications and oxide electrolytes in solid oxide fuel cells. This thesis presents results from in situ electrochemical studies of properties related to ionic transport in metal oxides that are important for their applications as protective oxides and ionic conductors.
