1. Neurological consequences of cardiac arrest
Abstract : An out-of-hospital cardiac arrest is a life-threatening event with very high early mortality. More than 50% of the patients who reach the emergency ward die, showing clinical signs of brain damage during the first weeks after admission. Survivors may suffer from post-ischemic encephalopathy, which influences their future lives. READ MORE

2. Mass screening for celiac disease in 12-year-olds : Finding them and then what?
Abstract : Background Mass screening for celiac disease (CD) as a public health intervention is controversial. Before implementation, a suitable screening strategy should be outlined, and the acceptability of the screening scrutinized. Also, the benefits of early detection and possible negative consequences should be explored and compared. READ MORE

3. Synthesis and characterization of Mo-based nanolaminates
Abstract : Mn+1AXn (MAX) phases are nanolaminated compounds based on a transition metal (M), a group A element (A), and carbon or/and nitrogen (X), which exhibit a unique combination of ceramic and metallic properties. Mo-based MAX phases are among the least studied, despite indication of superconducting properties and high potential for fabrication of the grapheneanalogous 2D counterpart, Mo2C MXene. READ MORE

4. Epitaxial thin films of group 4 transition metal diborides
Abstract : Group 4 transition metal diboride films were deposited epitaxially onto different substrates, typically at 900 °C, using direct-current magnetron sputtering from compound targets of ZrB2, TiB2, and HfB2. Epitaxial ZrB2 has been deposited on Al2O3(0001), 4H-SiC(0001), and Si(100) describing the epitaxial relationships on Si(100) for the first time, where two relationships were observed from pole-figure analysis, namely A) in-plane: ZrB2[001] ∥ Si[110] and ZrB2[110] ∥ Si[110], out-of-plane: ZrB2(100) ∥ Si(100), and B) in-plane: ZrB2[11] ∥ Si[110] and the same rotated 90° around the 102 axis, out-of- plane: ZrB2(102) ∥ Si(100). 5. Four Eighteenth-century Medical Dissertations under the Presidency of Nils Rosén : Edited and translated, with an introduction and commentary by Urban Örneholm
Abstract : Nils Rosén (von Rosenstein) (1706–73), Professor of medicine at Uppsala University, is less known than his colleague Linnaeus, but has, mainly through his textbook Underrättelser om Barn-Sjukdomar (1st monograph ed. 1764), had an enormous influence on the care of children throughout Europe.
