  1. 1. Design and Analysis of Highly Linear Integrated Wideband Amplifiers

    Author : Henrik Sjöland; Institutionen för elektro- och informationsteknik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; CMOS; nonlinearity cancellation; intermodulation distortion; RF amplifiers; IF amplifiers; audio amplifiers; power amplifiers; wideband amplifiers; analog integrated circuits; low voltage; amplifiers; distortion; bipolar; Electronics; Elektronik;

    Abstract : This dissertation deals with techniques for designing integrated amplifiers with high linearity. Amplifiers with operating frequencies from Audio to RF have been built. An enhanced feedback configuration, capable of very low distortion, is presented. READ MORE

  2. 2. Microwave CMOS Beamforming Transmitters

    Author : Johan Wernehag; Institutionen för elektro- och informationsteknik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Beamforming transmitter; CMOS; frequency doubling power amplifier; polyphase filter; phase shifting;

    Abstract : The increase of the consumer electronics market the last couple of decades has been one of the main drivers of IC process technology development. The majority of the ICs are used in digital applications, and for these CMOS is the choice of technology. The urge to squeeze more transistors on to a given area has led to shrinking feature sizes. 3. 3. Integrated Variable-Gain and CMOS Millimeter-Wave Amplifiers

    Author : Mohammad Anowar Masud; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; LNA; MMIC; FinFET; CMOS; HEMT; GaAs; WLP; VGA; BCB;

    Abstract : Variable Gain Amplifier finds extensive use in the high frequency demonstrators specially those operating in the millimeter-wave regions and beyond where the incoming RF signal level can have wide variations. To maintain a constant signal level an IF VGA has been designed that can offer a dynamic variation of gain as much as 45 dB together with a high maximum gain and a low noise figure. READ MORE

  4. 4. Integrated Transmitters for Cellular User Equipment–Wideband CMOS Power Amplifiers and Antenna Impedance Tuners

    Author : Jonas Lindstrand; Institutionen för elektro- och informationsteknik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; CMOS; LTE; Impedance tuner; Injection lock; Power amplifier; Efficiency; Polar bandwidth expansion; multiband;

    Abstract : The digital cellular systems era started about thirty years ago with the release of the first digital cellphones. These first digital cellphones were very different from today’s slim and esthetic cellular pocket computers. They were not mass-produced in million units a day, and they were designed for radio performance rather than appearance. READ MORE

  5. 5. Design and Characterization of MMIC IF VGA and Small Signal CMOS Millimeter Wave Amplifiers

    Author : M. Anowar Masud; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; BCB; CMOS; GaAs; LNA; VGA; MMIC; HEMT;

    Abstract : The main aim of this work is to demonstrate the easibility of designing and characterizing monolithic microwave integrated circuit (MMIC) variable gain amplifiers (VGA) and small signal amplifiers in III-V (GaAs) and 90 nm CMOS technologies, respectively. The VGA is studied at the IFfrequency of 2. READ MORE
