  1. 1. Analysis and improvement of risk assessment methodology for offshore energy installations : Aspects of environmental impact assessment and as-built subsea cable verification

    Author : Andreas Olsson; Blekinge Tekniska Högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; DST; Decision Support Tools; subsea cables; statistical method; environmental risk; risk of accidents; Systemteknik; Systems Engineering;

    Abstract : In the expansion of offshore sustainable energy systems, there is growing pressure on the environment and permit processes and the accumulation results in much higher total risk for accidents of future assets. Anticipating the problems at the design stage and improving verification is likely to increase energy development and reduce costs. READ MORE

  2. 2. Streams, Steams, and Steels : A Transnational History of Risk Regulation in Nuclear Power Plants (1850–1985)

    Abstract : Water is essential to produce nuclear energy and prevent nuclear disasters. As light water reactors are increasingly seen as a solution to achieving a sustainable energy transition and battling the climate crisis, it is more important than ever to investigate the risks of using water for nuclear power production. 3. 3. Accidents between pedestrians, bicyclists and motorized vehicles: Accident risk and injury severity

    Author : Höskuldur Kröyer; Trafik och väg; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Accidents; pedestrians; bicyclists; exposure; risk; consequence; speed; age.;

    Abstract : The aims of this work are to better understand (1) the relation between exposure and the risk of an accident between pedestrians and motorized vehicles and between bicyclists and motorized vehicles occurring at urban intersections and (2) how the speed environment and the victim´s age relate to the injury severity/outcome once a pedestrian or a bicyclist has been struck by a motorized vehicle. Cross sectional studies are used, and the relations are analyzed using multinomial logit models, negative binomial regression and other statistical methods. READ MORE

  4. 4. Valuation and pricing of traffic safety

    Author : Gunnar Lindberg; Lars Hultkrantz; Olof Johansson-Stenman; Örebro universitet; []

    Abstract : This thesis consists of six essays covering the topic of valuation and pricing of accidents. In the first essay a theory of the external marginal cost of accidents is presented. The external cost is dependent on the value of statistical life, the proportion internal cost and the so called risk elasticity, i.e. READ MORE
