36. Loads and responses for planing craft in waves
Abstract : Experimental and numerical analysis of loads and responses for planing craft in waves is considered. Extensive experiments have been performed on a planing craft, in full-scale as well as in model scale. The test set-ups and significant results are reviewed. READ MORE

37. Brash Ice and Level Ice Growth, Effects of Snow
Abstract : Brash ice occurs due to frequent navigation in ice-infested waters, typically along established navigation tracks regularly maintained by icebreakers and harbors. The accumulation and consolidation of brash ice between two ship passages are influenced by meteorological factors including the cumulative freezing air temperatures, and the mechanical processes such as ice-breaking due to ship passages. 38. Microsieving in municipal wastewater treatment : Chemically enhanced primary and tertiary treatment
Abstract : Municipal wastewater treatment plants are constantly forced to make improvements. The main objectives are to reduce energy consumption, to increase the treatment capacity and to improve the effluent water quality. Microsieves in combination with chemical pretreatment can potentially fulfil these objectives. READ MORE

39. Heat and water transfer for lacquer drying and thermal signatures : modelling, simulation and experiment
Abstract : The coupled phenomenon of heat and water transfer is essential in many scientific and industrial problems. This thesis focuses this phenomenon on two areas; lacquer drying and thermal signatures. Simulations of physical phenomena may in some cases replace extensive experimental investigations, which may be complicated and expensive. READ MORE

40. Reactive filter materials for ammonium and phosphorus sorption in small scale wastewater treatment
Abstract : Existing small scale wastewater treatment systems in Nordic countries have generally low treatment efficiency regarding phosphorus and nitrogen. Even though only 15% of the Swedish population is connected to on-site wastewater treatment systems, the total discharge of phosphorus from these systems exceeds the total discharge from all municipal treatment plants in Sweden.
