  1. 1. Toward a cyclical model of resource alteration

    Author : Peter Altmann; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; fine-grained; cognitive theory; Resource; practice theory; resource alteration; resource understanding; micro-level;

    Abstract : Strategy work is principally about resource alteration. As managers attempt to alter their organizational resources, they need to ask two questions: “What are our resources?” and “How can we use these resources?” Managers will probably have little difficulty answering these questions in the case of tangible resources, e.g. READ MORE

  2. 2. Low temperature olivine alteration ; an experimental approach

    Author : Anna Neubeck; Nils Holm; Gretchen Früh-Green; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : Olivine alteration; hydrogen; methane; serpentinization; geokemi; Geochemistry;

    Abstract : Water reacting with minerals to alter or dissolve them is a common phenomenon on Earth, leading to a unique chemical composition of the oceans and continents. The continuous circulation of elements and the chemical reactions between them creates the extraordinary environment prevailing on our Earth today and was probably an important requirement for the onset of life on our planet. 3. 3. Hydrothermal alteration of organic matter at spreading centers

    Author : Eva Andersson; Bernd R.T. Simoneit; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Chemistry; Kemi; Biogeochemistry; biogeokemi;

    Abstract : Alteration of organic matter, mainly amino acids, at sub-seafloor hydrothermal conditions has been investigated by performing laboratory experiments and by studying deep-sea sediments from hydrothermally active areas on the northern Juan de Fuca Ridge, northeast Pacific Ocean.Quaternary sediments from Middle Valley and the eastern flank of the Juan de Fuca Ridge recovered during the Ocean Drilling Program Legs 139 and 168 have been analyzed for total hydrolyzable amino acid concentrations, individual amino acid abundances and stereochemistry in order to evaluate the effects of hydrothermal stress on the decomposition of sedimentary amino acids. 4. 4. The search for reversibility of Idiopathic normal pressure hydrocephalus : Aspects on intracranial pressure measurments and CSF volume alteration

    Author : Niklas Lenfeldt; Jan Malm; Anders Eklund; Katrine Riklund-Åhlström; John D. Pickard; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Idiopathic normal pressure hydrocephalus; intracranial pressure; subcortical ischemia; neuronal integrity; cortical activation.; infusion test; cerebrospinal fluid dynamics; outflow resistance; compliance; elastance; proton spectroscopy; functional MRI; external lumbar drainage; Neurology; Neurologi;

    Abstract : BACKGROUND: Idiopathic normal pressure hydrocephalus (INPH) is still a syndrome generating more questions than answers. Today, research focuses mainly on two areas: understanding the pathophysiology – especially how the malfunctioning CSF system affects the brain parenchyma – and finding better methods to select patients benefiting from a shunt operation. 5. 5. Stratigraphy and Geochemistry of the Palaeoproterozoic Dannemora inlier, north-eastern Bergslagen region, central Sweden

    Author : Peter Dahlin; Karin Högdahl; Olav Eklund; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Dannemora; Bergslagen region; volcaniclastic rocks; sedimentology; metasomatic alteration; lithogeochemistry; reflection seismic; Geovetenskap med inriktning mot mineralogi; petrologi och tektonik; Earth Science with specialization in Mineral Chemistry; Petrology and Tectonics;

    Abstract : The Palaeoproterozoic Dannemora inlier is situated in the north-eastern Bergslagen region. The inlier consists of primary and reworked volcanic deposits, stromatolitic limestone and skarn that have been subjected to upper greenschist facies metamorphism. READ MORE
